Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal Vergaderjaar 1988-1989 20 887 Gemeentelijke herindeling van de provincie Groningen (Herindelingswet provincie Groningen) Nr. 13 AMENDEMENTEN VAN HET LID J.T. VAN DEN BERG Ontvangen 20 juni 1989 De ondergetekende stelt de volgende amendementen voor: I In artikel 1, tweede lid, onderdeel II, wordt de aanhef vervangen door: Zuidhorn, bestaande uit het gebied van de op te heffen gemeente Aduard, de op te heffen gemeente Zuidhorn, behoudens de gedeelten die overgaan naar de nieuwe gemeente Grootegast en naar de gemeente Leek, de op te heffen gemeente Ezinge, behoudens een gedeelte dat overgaat naar de nieuwe gemeente Grijpskerk, gedeelten van de op te heffen gemeente Oldekerk en een gedeelte van de gemeente Leek, met dien verstande dat de grens van de nieuwe gemeente Zuidhorn met de nieuwe gemeente Grijpskerk overigens samenvalt met de bestaande grens tussen enerzijds de op te heffen gemeenten Grijpskerk en Oldehove en anderzijds de op te heffen gemeenten Zuidhorn, Aduard en Ezinge. II In artikel 1, tweede lid, wordt een onderdeel Ma ingevoegd, luidende: Ha. Grijpskerk, bestaande uit het gebied van de op te heffen gemeente Grijpskerk, behoudens de gedeelten die overgaan naar de nieuwe gemeente Grootegast, de op te heffen gemeente Oldehove behoudens het gedeelte dat overgaat naar de nieuwe gemeente Zuidhorn, en gedeelten van de op te heffen gemeenten Ezinge, Grootegast en Oldekerk. Toelichting De amendementen beogen de splitsing van de nieuwe gemeente Zuidhorn in de Gemeenten Grijpskerk/Oldenhove en Zuidhorn/Aduard met toevoeging van de gemeente Ezinge. In early Anglo-Saxon England, the practice of post-Roman Christianity adapted after the Anglo-Saxon migration. The contemporary texts all agree that Christianity continued to be practiced into the fifth and sixth centuries but the archaeological record reflects a predominantly Anglo-Saxon culture. My research compiles the evidence for post-Roman Christian practice on the east coast of England from cemeteries and Roman churches to determine the extent of religious change after the migration. THE INDIVIDUATED SOCIETY: A FRISIAN MODEL Henryk Sjaardema Preface It has long seemed to me that the dynamic of human activity is directly related to ecological variables within the society. It is the intimate rela- tionship of-the individual to the requirements of his society that not only channels human energies, but provides a framework for value orientations as well. It is as if society were a vast complex of machinery and man the kinetic force driving it. As machinery falls into social disuse, malfunction and inoperation, man must turn to new or alternative avenues or see his kinetic energy fall into disuse. When the crucial social machinery becomes patterned and routinized a surplus of human energy is made available. The stable society has a way of rechanneling these energies into other roles. Where these addi- tional roles are not present-where energy becomes constricted--social revolu- tions transpire. This study has been directed toward one socio-economic segment of Western man in which the role of the individual has been measured against the ecological requirements of the society. This pilot study is an attempt to probe variables which seem crucial to the rise of the individuated society. Introduction Purpose. To investigate the individuated basis for Frisian society. If the total society can be considered in its broadest sense, as a social configuration which transcends the normal limits of thinking built into political conceptions of the totalitarian state, my meaning will be made clear- er. This social configuration is one which places the requirements of the commun'ity on all levels above that of the commnity's individual constituents.

* omslag Dutch Ships in Tropical:DEF 18-08-09 13:30 Pagina 1 dutch ships in tropical waters robert parthesius The end of the 16th century saw Dutch expansion in Asia, as the Dutch East India Company (the VOC) was fast becoming an Asian power, both political and economic. By 1669, the VOC was the richest private company the world had ever seen. This landmark study looks at perhaps the most important tool in the Company’ trading – its ships. In order to reconstruct the complete shipping activities of the VOC, the author created a unique database of the ships’ movements, including frigates and other, hitherto ignored, smaller vessels. Parthesius’s research into the routes and the types of ships in the service of the VOC proves that it was precisely the wide range of types and sizes of vessels that gave the Company the ability to sail – and continue its profitable trade – the year round. Furthermore, it appears that the VOC commanded at least twice the number of ships than earlier historians have ascertained. Het ligt ten westen van Doezum tegen de grens met de provincie Friesland. De naam komt van een bos dat hier stond en dat eigendom vormde van een man genaamd Pebe (Piebe). Vroeger werd het dan ook wel Pebebosch genoemd. Het was lange tijd een ruig gebied bestaande uit laaggelegen broek- en veenlanden, die begroeid waren met riet, elzen en wilgen en grensden aan het beekdal van de Lauwers. In het oostelijk deel lag een bos, grofweg ten noordwesten van de kruising tussen de Peebos en de Doezumertocht. Pettengebied Doezumermieden Ten noordwesten van het gehucht in de polder de Doezumermieden liggen een groot aantal bij de vervening gevormde petgaten, die tezamen worden aangeduid als De Petten. In sommige van die veenputten komt de groene glazenmaker voor, een libellesoort die zeldzaam is. Het pettengebied was net als een niet meer bestaande keuterij eigendom van eigenaar Melle Visser, die het later aan Staatsbosbeheer verkocht. Later werden er wandelpaden aangelegd die verwijzen naar de historie van het gebied( Pettenpad, Melle’s pad en Pebe’s pad). Overzicht van de vroegmiddeleeuwse verkaveling. De afzonderlijke kavelblokken zijn met verschillende kleuren weergegeven. Deze blokken sluiten goed aan bij de oorspronkelijke parochiegrenzen. De middeleeuwse kerken zijn weergegeven.
