JICA selected and dispatched the study team headed by Mr. Tadashi Kume of Pacific Consultants International and consisting of Pacific Consultants International and Appropriate Agriculture International Co., Ltd. to Oman between June 2002 and July 2004. It is with great pleasure that I acknowledge the close collaboration between the Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources and the JICA study team, which resulted in the formulation of the master plan. I strongly wish that this master plan, formulated with under the strong initiative of the Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources, will contribute to the restoration, conservation and management of mangroves in the Sultanate of Oman.
