INTRODUCTION This report sums up the findings of the 3 Climate Change Panel meetings that were convened in the Carse of Gowrie during the course of February and March 2011. Around 30 local people attended each of the meetings which were held in the Inchture Hotel. The meetings were hosted by Perth and Kinross Council and the Scottish Climate Change Impacts Partnership (SCCIP) and were aimed at providing an opportunity for the Carse of Gowrie community to consider the likely impacts and effects of climate change – and the potential to proactively adapt to address the challenges and issues that this might bring. The report is primarily designed to provide feedback to the participants on the findings of the meetings and to enable them to access the information and presentations made at these meetings. It was agreed at the end of the meetings that there was enough interest to hold a follow up meeting in 3 months time – sometime in June.     CARSE OF GOWRIE ORCHARDS CULTURAL FEATURES Templehall Orchard looking South (© RCAHMS) Medieval window tracery at Charlestown Farm (© RCAHMS) Derek Hall January 2010 1 Introduction For the desk based element of this document the author consulted the National Monuments Record at RCAHMS in Edinburgh and was provided with data from the local sites and monuments record courtesy of Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust. Following the desk based element field visits were made to selected monuments and features although this was curtailed by December and Januarys deep snow and ice. The decision was made to identify sites in close proximity to each of the orchards that could meaningfully be connected when possible path networks were being considered. What is quite striking from this study is that there is also the potential for linking many of the orchard sites with each other as a few of the site types, Dovecots and Designed Landscapes for example, crop up quite frequently throughout the Carse. A set of suggested interpretative themes have been included in the appendix along with a named list of identified features by orchard and medieval documentary references to orchards and fruit trees. Each orchard entry has two maps, one from the First Edition Ordnance Survey of 1863 and a modern version which has been marked up with the orchard location (green for existing and red for no longer existing) and cultural features in the vicinity. The Ordnance Survey Landranger map supplied by the project team has also been marked up to indicate the position of cultural features using black crosses, orchard locations and extents were already marked on this map.

    PERTH & KINROSS INTEGRATION JOINT BOARD 15 February 2019 APPLICATION TO AMEND GMS CONTRACT and TO CLOSE THE BRANCH SURGERY PREMISES IN ST MADOES FOR THE CARSE MEDICAL PRACTICE, ERROL Report by Associate Medical Director, Hamish Dougall (Report No. G/19/14) PURPOSE OF REPORT The purpose of this report is to outline the current issues relating to the general practice provision for the Carse Medical Practice, Errol and to consider the Practice’s request to vary their GMS Contract. The practice are proposing the closure of their branch surgery in St Madoes and providing general medical services from the main practice centre in Errol. Although the application is to amend the hours for the practice and close the St Madoes branch surgery, the core hours of business will remain the same when the practice moves back to Errol. 1. RECOMMENDATIONS The Integration Joint Board is asked to: • Note the application made by the Carse Medical Practice to close their branch surgery premises in St Madoes in accordance with Part 8 - Variation and Termination of Contracts of the National Health Service (General Medical Services Contracts) (Scotland) Regulations 2018; • Support the aim of the Carse Medical Practice that all current patients will have the opportunity to remain registered with the Carse Medical Practice and continue to see their current GP team; • Note the preferred option is for the Carse Medical Practice to consolidate its services on one site to maintain the sustainability of the practice, subject to approval by NHS Tayside Board; and • Approve further consultation with the GPs and the GP practice population is held to inform a Health Needs Assessment that will support the development of new GP practice premises in the longer term.
