• The Healthcare Informatics program at St John’s University leads to a Bachelor of Science degree. • Students take courses within the computer science curriculum, within the Health Services Administration curriculum, as well as 21 hours of specialized coursework in Healthcare Informatics.

• The BS program on the Queens Campus at St John’s University is part of the College of Professional Studies, Division of Computer Science, Mathematics and Science.

• Students gain an in-depth understanding of algorithmic thinking, , programming languages and advanced applications of computer science

• Classes are small, allowing a great deal of hands- on work and personal contact Internships

Dr. Nikhil Yadav is the Director of Internships

• Students can take academic or non-academic Internships • Students work closely with Career Services to find Internships • Interns work in all areas from banking, security, programming, state and federal organizations, hospitals, schools, insurance companies, consulting firms, entertainment and sporting industries

• Academic Internships Qualifications – 60 credits completed – 12 credits completed in the major – Can take for 3 credits and must complete 112 hours – Can take for 6 credits and must complete 224 hours Research

• All new incoming Freshmen will have a Freshmen adviser and a faculty mentor. Please check to see who your mentor is and be sure to check emails from your mentor. It is highly recommended that you meet with your faculty adviser after meeting with your freshmen adviser to go over your course selections for the next semester.
