The idea soon gathered momentum and last summer an initial meeting was held to discuss the format of the event. The ‘Caterham Festival Committee’ was formed and local groups and organisations were invited to take part. The result was a superb six-week Festival that pulled together the arts, music, theatre, local history and public events like the Festival organiser, Barbara Brunsdon traditional Caterham Carnival and the first ever Street Party.
