APRIL 15, 2015 / 12:00PM, WBA - Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc Analyst Day (Day 1) the event. For those who don't know me, my name is Gerald Gradwell, and along with my colleague Ashish Kohli, we are responsible for the investor relations function here at Walgreens Boots Alliance. On behalf of everyone at the Company, we appreciate your attendance at the event, either in person or online, and thank you for your interest and continued support for our group. Before we begin the agenda today, I, of course, have to remind you of the Safe Harbor statements. Certain statements and projections of future results made in today's presentations constitute forward-looking statements that are based on our current market competitive and regulatory expectations, and are subject to and involve risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to vary materially. Except to the extent required by law, we undertake no obligation to update publicly any forward-looking statement after today's presentations whether as a result of new information, future events, changes in assumptions, or otherwise. Please see our latest Form 10-K and subsequent filings for a discussion of risk factors as they relate to forward-looking statements. Today's presentations include certain non-GAAP financial measures and we refer you to the appendix on the -- to the presentation material available on our investor relations website for reconciliations to the most directly comparable GAAP financial measures and related information. A couple of housekeeping points before we get started today. (Conference Instructions) The presentations today are loosely grouped by theme and after each group of presentations we have a Q&A. There will be a series of breaks as well during the day. If you want to ask a question there will be people in the room with microphones. Raise your hand; you'll be given a microphone and queued up as the next question. Anybody online wanting to ask a question, you may email those questions to [email protected] and, if we can, we will get to as many of these as possible. There are a lot of people participating in this event online and otherwise. If we don't get to all of your questions, again even in the room, email them to [email protected] or given to any of the IR representatives in the room. And if we don't get to them actually during the event today, we will get back to you with the answers as soon as possible. We have most of our IR team here today, myself and Ashish, who are wondering around. We have Deborah Walter, the latest addition to our IR team, who is the Director of IR for Europe. Snehal Shah and [Gail Vickers]. All of them will be easily identified by their Walgreens Boots Alliance clothing and they are available to answer any queries you have. But you can also ask effectively anyone you see wearing one of these ties or one of these buttons. In terms of what we are trying to do today, we are trying to keep on time to a 5:00 stop, so we have some flexibility in our agenda, but we are going to try and keep on schedule. We have deliberately allowed a significant period of time for questioning during the day, so you will get to ask a fair amount of questions. We've tried to keep the presentations as informative, but still as short as possible to allow most time for questions. That's about it for today for the opening housekeeping. I would now like to hand over to our Chairman, Jim Skinner, to pass a few opening comments. Jim Skinner - Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. - Executive Chairman Morning, everybody. That's a great New York good morning, thank you so much for that. Thank you, Gerald and Ashish, for putting this meeting together, a very important meeting, and getting it started this morning. Let me add my welcome and thanks to all of you that are here in person and for those of you then on the phone calling in and for joining us for this first analyst day for Walgreens Boots Alliance. 3 THOMSON REUTERS STREETEVENTS | www.streetevents.com | Contact Us ©2015 Thomson Reuters. APRIL 15, 2015 / 12:00PM, WBA - Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc Analyst Day (Day 1) I would like to underscore the Investor Relations philosophy of our new global company, which we expressed our second-quarter call last week. From the IR team through the senior leadership of WBA, our key objective is to serve our shareholders and communicate effectively with the analyst community. Our key principles are openness, transparency, and responsiveness, and most of all, hopefully, no surprises. Our job is to help you understand our business, our strategies, our opportunities, and our risks and how we intend to create value and deliver results. That's our goal for today and tomorrow, tomorrow morning. And for Stefano and his team to provide a more complete introduction to Walgreens Boots Alliance: our vision, purpose, and values; our business model; our strategies; and our value proposition. And our goal today is also to get to know one another. We welcome and depend on your feedback, so we look forward to your questions and comments today and in the future. Now before I turned to Stefano, let me touch on why I personally am so excited by the merger of Walgreens and Alliance Boots to create the first global pharmacy-led health and well-being enterprise. Together, simply put, our companies can do more together than we can do alone. Together we have the people, the assets, the opportunity, and the combined passion to help transform the delivery of healthcare the world over, and to transform the way people shop for things they want and need. So this merger is not about getting bigger, although we are bigger. It's about pooling our talent, resources, and innovations and harnessing synergies and economies of scale to serve people better. That includes our shareholders, our owners, who make everything we do possible. I will let Stefano share the future vision for Walgreens Boots Alliance with you this morning and introduce the members of his management team that you are going to hear from today. But to close on a final point: what you will be hearing about is a completely new company with new leadership, a new mindset, a new culture combining the best of these two great brands and new opportunities to create long-term sustainable value. Certainly, we all know we have a lot of work to do in this transformation. It will not always be easy -- we all know it never is -- but it will be well worth it as you are going to hear today from the team.

EQUITY IMPACTS OF DOLLAR STORE VACCINE DISTRIBUTION By Judith A. Chevalier, Jason L. Schwartz, Yihua Su, and Kevin R. Williams April 2021 COWLES FOUNDATION DISCUSSION PAPER NO. 2280 COWLES FOUNDATION FOR RESEARCH IN ECONOMICS YALE UNIVERSITY Box 208281 New Haven, Connecticut 06520-8281 http://cowles.yale.edu/ Equity Impacts of Dollar Store Vaccine Distribution * Judith A. Chevalier,Yale School of Management and NBER Jason L. Schwartz, Yale School of Public Health Yihua Su, Yale School of Public Health Kevin R. Williams, Yale School of Management and NBER April 2, 2021 Abstract We use geospatial data to examine the unprecedented national program currently underway in the United States to distribute and administer vaccines against COVID- 19. We quantify the impact of the proposed federal partnership with the company Dollar General to serve as vaccination sites and compare vaccine access with Dollar General to the current Federal Retail Pharmacy Partnership Program. Although dollar stores have been viewed with skepticism and controversy in the policy sector, we show that, relative to the locations of the current federal program, Dollar General stores are disproportionately likely to be located in Census tracts with high social vulnerability; using these stores as vaccination sites would greatly decrease the distance to vaccines for both low-income and minority households. We consider a hypothetical alternative partnership with Dollar Tree and show that adding these stores to the vaccination program would be similarly valuable, but impact different geographic areas than the Dollar General partnership. Adding Dollar General to the current pharmacy partners greatly surpasses the goal set by the Biden administration of having 90% of the popu- lation within 5 miles of a vaccine site.

  • Local Businesses – Large and Small
Local Businesses – Large and Small The details of the local businesses documented below have been researched by the Local History Group. Thomas Glover & Son Thomas Glover & Son, elastic web and fabric manufacturers appeared in the Post Office Directory for Nottinghamshire in 1855. The company is recorded as having several addresses in Nottingham, however it had disappeared from the directory by 1900, returning in 1925 described as a surgical hosier in Chesterfield Street, Carlton. The firm remained at that address until the 1970s. The company’s buildings were on both sides of Chesterfield Street but are now demolished, new houses being built on the side. Turney Brothers In 1861 two brothers, Edward and John Turney built a tannery and began to make leather on a site next to the River Trent and the adjacent canal in Nottingham, known as Sneinton Island. The first buildings took up only a fraction of the space that by the 1920s had developed into a large site with labour-saving machinery imported from many countries. They traded under the name of Turney Brothers and had offices in London, Leicester and Manchester. Edward left some years after the commencement of the company and the driving force was John Turney who was in sole charge for over a quarter of a century. In 1888 the company re-organised into a Limited Company, John being chairman. John led an exceptionally distinguished social, political and commercial life. He was a member of Nottingham Corporation for 46 years, and became Sheriff and then Alderman in 1879 and Mayor for two years 1886 – 1888.
