Coral Gables, Florida.- Join international star JON SECADA, the Area Stage Company Coach- ing Staff and Conservatory students in an amazing evening of music. The concert will include classics from the American Musical Theatre Repertoire and will be directed, arranged and con- ducted by award winning Director JON ROSE. This benefit concert will be presented on June 16th at 8:00pm. All profits will go directly to benefit children that have lost their parents in the Ecuador Earthquake. “I realize that on my own, the help I could give would be so limited -then I remind myself of the generous spirit of our community, who I have witnessed to be always present when tragedy of this magnitude strikes anywhere in the world.” said Executive Director, Maria Banda-Rodaz. The fundraiser event will include appearances and performances by a number of home-grown artists like JON SECADA who are concerned by the recent events in Ecuador. “Together we be- lieve we can make a difference” said Mr Secada. Tickets will be $100, $75, and $50 as all proceeds will go directly to foundations that are helping children that are now orphan because of this tragic event. Jon Secada (Host/Singer) is a Cuban American singer and songwriter. Three-time Grammy winner Mr. Secada is an international . With sales of more than 20 million worldwide, Secada is also a veteran of Broadway, television, and an accomplished producer. Af- ter earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Jazz Vocal Performance at the University of , Secada joined ’s band composing several ballads for Estefan. His debut Jon Secada went triple platinum, and the Spanish-language version was the Number One Latin album of 1992, earning a Grammy for Best Album. Secada’s second album, Heart Soul and Voice, went platinum, and his third album, Amor, earned a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Performance. In 2006, Secada shared a Grammy for Songs From The Neighborhood: The Music of Mister Rogers. Secada has released numerous top thirty hits and albums since, and in 2010, released his first concert DVD, “Stage Rio” from his 2009 tour. Jon Rose (Musical Director/Conductor/Piano) Jon studied music at the in Coral Gables, Florida where he received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano and Masters of Mu- sic in Media Writing and Music Production. While living in South Florida he has performed with touring productions of Hairspray, Chicago, Mamma Mia!, Jersey Boys, Catch Me If You Can, Sister Act, Motown and Beautiful. In 2009, Jon was nominated for a Carbonell award for his mu- sical direction of Vices: A Love Story. That same year he received the honor of Best Musical Di- rector in the “Best of Broward” edition of the NEWTIMES. Jon served as associate music direc- tor for the national tours of Billy Elliot and Book Of Mormon. The Area Stage Company is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization with an award-winning pro- fessional theatre company and a prestigious conservatory program that speaks a language of artistic excellence.
