COllaborative Management Platform for detection and Analyses of (Re-) emerging and foodborne outbreaks in Europe General Meeting 2018 28 February – 2 March 2018 Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark It is our pleasure to welcome you back to Denmark for the COMPARE General Meeting 2018. About the meeting The meeting will be held at the Technical University of Denmark, Glass Hall (Glassalen), Building 101, Anker Engelunds Vej 1, 2800 Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark. The meeting will open with registration at 09:00 on 28 February, and close at 16:00 on 02 March. Coffee breaks and Lunch will be provided on all days. You are invited to the networking dinner at 18:30 on 28 February (held at Nørrebro Bryghus, Ryesgade 3, 2200 Copenhagen, www.noerrebrobryghus.dk/en). Dinner on 1 March is on your own (popular restaurants are marked on a map). An agenda for the meeting is forthcoming. We are not able to offer reimbursement of any expenses (exception for EAP members). Participants are expected to attend the meeting in its entirety. Deadline for registration The deadline for registering for the COMPARE General Meeting and for the guaranteed hotel rates is 19 January 2018. The deadline for Young COMPARE registration and submission of abstracts is also 19 January 2018. Information about Young COMPARE will be sent out separately. Public transport information is also available at http://www.rejseplanen.dk/ . Public transportation tickets may be purchased at the airport or at kiosks at the station. The cost of public transportation is between 20 DKK to 36 DKK (2.50 – 5 Euros). If you take a taxi from Copenhagen Airport (CPH) to any of the hotels, it will cost from 175 DKK to 225 DKK (25 – 30 Euros). From the Copenhagen Airport (CPH) to WakeUp (Borgergade 9): Take the Metro Line M2 to Kongens Nytorv station. Ibsens Hotel | Page | 5 COMPARE General Meeting 2018 COllaborative Management Platform for detection and Analyses of (Re-) emerging and foodborne outbreaks in Europe Transportation to and from the Meeting Bus transportation from/to the suggested hotels and to/from the Technical University of Denmark will be provided on 28 February – 2 March 2018. We expect the buses to leave the hotels at 08:00 in the morning and travel to DTU. Busses will depart DTU at the end of the meeting day (between 17:30 and 18:00 on 28 February and 1 March, 16:00 on 2 March). On 28 February, the busses will depart DTU at approximately 18:00 and travel directly to the networking dinner location: Nørrebro Bryghus, Ryesgade 3, 2200 Copenhagen, http://www.noerrebrobryghus.dk/en. Bus transportation is also provided for Young COMPARE. The bus will leave the WakeUp Hotel (Borgergade 9) at 08:00 on 27 February for DTU. The bus will depart DTU at approximately 18:00 on 27 February and go directly to the dinner venue (Madklubben Bistro-De-Luxe, Store Kongensgade 66, 1264 Copenhagen, http://madklubben.dk/bistro- de-luxe/). If you miss the bus You can take a taxi from any of the hotels to DTU (Anker Engelunds Vej 1, 2800 Kgs. Lyngby). From any of the hotels, this may cost 300 DKK (40 Euros) or more. You may choose public transportation. Public transport information is available at https://www.rejseplanen.dk/ . The cost is between 32 – 60 DKK (4.50 – 8 Euros), and will take approximately one hour. From Nørreport Station, you can take either S-tog Line E, or Bus 15E or 150S. S-tog Line E: To Lyngby Station, then Bus 300S (direction Gl. Holte) to DTU Bus 15E or 150S: To Rævehøjvej, DTU (Helsingørmotorvejen). The square in China is a more recent concept, and designing squares seems dominated by the concept "the bigger city, the bigger square". This has triggered the author to start a research on scale issue of squares. The theoretical work is on the basis of previous studies of spatial scale and square scale, combining the theory of human dimension from physical and psychological factors. The absolute scale of a square is constituted by its size, while the relative scale reflects the square’s power of attraction. In the investigation of the six sites the size of the square, the size of subspaces, the height and width of buildings in the surroundings is measured and the manner of enclosure and space division is observed, thus the architectural field is calculated and evaluated. The situation of how many people come to the squares and how the spaces are used is observed. A comparison and analogy between each of the two squares of the same type is conducted in the discussion chapter. The scale of three types of squares in the Scandinavian capital city Copenhagen is looked at: civic squares, traffic evacuation squares, leisure and entertainment squares.
