The meeting will be held in downtown Copenhagen. Hotel Admiral: http://www.admiralhotel.dk About the meeting The meeting will be held at the Admiral Hotel, Toldbodgade 24 – 28, Copenhagen, Telephone: +45 33 74 14 14. The meeting will open with registration at 12:30 on 8 March, and close at 13:00 on 10 March. Lunch will be provided all 3 days, and you are invited to the Kick-off dinner at 18:30 on 8 March (held at the Admiral Hotel). The Executive Board will meet on 8 March, 09:00 - 12:00, Admiral Hotel. The Expert Advisory Panels and Executive Board will meet on 10 March, 13:00 - 17:00, Admiral Hotel. WIFI will be available at the Admiral Hotel during the meeting. An agenda for the meeting is forthcoming. We are not able to offer reimbursement of any expenses. Participants are expected to attend the meeting in its entirety. I Infrastrukturkommissionens redegørelse om fremtidens trafikinvesteringer synes jeg, at der mangler noget, nemlig et forslag til aflastning af Københavns Hovedbanegård og Nørreport Station, samt en aflastning af banestrækningen Danshøj Station - Hovedba- negården - Østerport Station. Alt dette mener jeg kan gøres ved at udbygge Danshøj Sta- tion til Københavns Vestbanegård. Danshøj Stations beliggenhed har en lang række fordele. For det første ligger Danshøj Station godt placeret for såvel den offentlige trafik (da den nemt kan udbygges til at betjene både regionaltog, fjerntog, S-tog, og metro) samt for den private biltrafik (da den nemt kan sættes i forbindelse med motorvejsnettet). For det andet er området omkring stationen er forholdsvis tyndt bebygget (koloniha- veforeningen Brohaven) eller ligefrem ubebygget. Det betyder: at ekspropriationsomkostningerne ved en udbygning af stationen vil være forholdsvis små, at der er plads til at anlægge en tip-top moderne station for både tog og busser, samt plads til taxiholdepladser, og et kæmpe parkeringshus til passagerer, der kommer med bil til stationen. 1. Det første, man skulle gøre, var at udbygge Danshøj Station til ikke alene at være skiftestation for de derværende S-togslinier, men at man også skulle lade samtlige fjern- tog og regionaltog standse her.

This has triggered the author to start a research on scale issue of squares. The theoretical work is on the basis of previous studies of spatial scale and square scale, combining the theory of human dimension from physical and psychological factors. The absolute scale of a square is constituted by its size, while the relative scale reflects the square’s power of attraction. In the investigation of the six sites the size of the square, the size of subspaces, the height and width of buildings in the surroundings is measured and the manner of enclosure and space division is observed, thus the architectural field is calculated and evaluated. The situation of how many people come to the squares and how the spaces are used is observed. A comparison and analogy between each of the two squares of the same type is conducted in the discussion chapter. The scale of three types of squares in the Scandinavian capital city Copenhagen is looked at: civic squares, traffic evacuation squares, leisure and entertainment squares.
