2. RESEARCHAND SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES RESEARCH PROFILE My main research interests focus on quantitative methods in information systems using analytics and soft computing methods and the application of these methods to different fields (decision support systems, supply chain management, management science). During my doctoral studies and in the recent years since then I have become familiar with several different topics within information sys- tems, such as analytics, logistic optimization, mobile commerce, and published numerous papers in all of these topics. Additionally to mathematical modelling, I have been involved in several research projects with different methodological approaches, from case study to survey research. I have been involved in several industry-university collaboration projects with some of the largest companies in Finland mainly from the process industry which is the core part of the Finnish economy. RESEARCHGRANTS Marcus Wallenberg Foundation (2012): 3500 eas personal grant for the purpose of research on ANDPROJECTS decision analytics Willy Gielen scholarship (2013): personal grant of 3509 efor research advancing Finnish paper industry Participation with various national research projects (listed in the previous employment section) and international research collaborations with University of Trento, Italy, University of Granada, Spain, Obuda´ University, Hungary.
