Compte-Rendu À La Communauté 2016-2017 Message De La Présidente Du Conseil Et Du Président Et Chef De La Direction Compte-rendu à la communauté 2016-2017 Message de la présidente du Conseil et du président et chef de la direction À Centraide Ottawa, nous nous engageons à changer des vies. Toutefois, nous ne pourrions y arriver seuls. Pour réaliser des progrès concrets et mesurables, nous devons rassembler des gens qui renforcent le tissu social de notre ville. C’est pourquoi, chaque année, nous sommes heureux de voir des milliers de gens s’engager à faire d’Ottawa un endroit encore plus agréable où vivre pour tous. Ce sont ces gens qui font le travail sur le terrain pour aider les personnes dans le besoin; elles investissent leur argent durement gagné dans le renforcement de nos communautés. Ce sont des gens qui n’ont pas peur de défier le statu quo et de promouvoir le changement. Bref, ces gens donnent généreusement temps, énergie et expertise à l’appui des autres. Ce sont des gens comme vous. Cette manifestation continue du pouvoir communautaire est ce qui nous pousse à relever certains des défis les plus importants d’Ottawa. Qu’il s’agisse d’aider des personnes âgées à demeurer en lien avec notre communauté; d’aider des jeunes à quitter la rue pour de bon; ou d’offrir du counseling à une personne qui souffre de problèmes de santé mentale ou de toxicomanie; votre soutien continu est essentiel à la création d’un vrai changement durable pour les personnes les plus vulnérables de notre communauté. En fait, grâce à nos partisans, nos partenaires et le travail acharné que nous effectuons dans ces domaines, nous sommes fiers de dire que nous avons changé près de 54 900 vies jusqu’à présent, en 2016-2017, à Ottawa. Le présent rapport représente un instantané de l’incroyable incidence de nos efforts combinés au cours de la dernière année; cette incidence est non seulement démontrée par les résultats mesurables que nous avons atteints, mais aussi par les anecdotes des gens qui ont partagé leur histoire. Le rapport explique comment Centraide Ottawa continue d’évoluer pour répondre aux besoins de notre communauté et s’adapter à l’environnement évolutif de la collecte de fonds. Par exemple, l’année dernière, l’innovation de Centraide a généré de nouvelles approches prometteuses en matière d’engagement des donateurs. Nous sommes fiers d’avoir créé des expériences de dons en ligne personnalisées, ainsi que des applications, notamment Assez pour arriver et Petit CHANGEment. Nous sommes également fiers d’avoir offert des initiatives et des activités uniques, y compris Cuisine Fusion, les cercles de GenNext+ et spark. Nous avons aussi continué de bâtir et de renforcir des partenariats stratégiques au sein de notre communauté. Le projet répa en constitue un excellent exemple. Nous avons travaillé de pair avec divers partenaires en matière d’éducation et de santé, puis nous avons mobilisé une réponse communautaire efficace et en temps opportun à un problème urgent auquel notre ville faisait face, soit le fentanyl. De plus, tel que mentionné dans notre série de blogues « Notre ville », nous continuons d’amasser des données pour être à l’affût des besoins communautaires et pour demeurer chef de file dans la création d’un changement systémique à long terme. Compte-rendu à la communauté 2016-2017 | 2 Enfin, la dernière année constituait une étape monumentale dans notre longue histoire de collaboration. En janvier 2017, les Centraide de Prescott-Russell, d’Ottawa, du comté de Lanark et du comté de Renfrew ont voté pour une fusion visant à partager leurs ressources pour avoir un plus grand effet sur les gens dans le besoin. En unissant nos efforts pour adresser les principaux enjeux de nos communautés, nous sommes guidés par un principe fondamental : ce que nous amassons localement est investi ainsi. À mesure que nous considérons l’avenir, il est évident que le futur offre une multitude de possibilités, comme celle de créer de nouveaux changements, plus efficaces qu’auparavant. L’époque où nous voyions Centraide qu’aux événe- ments de lancement et de clôture de la campagne traditionnelle est terminée; s’engager se fait en tout temps. C’est pourquoi nous recueillons des fonds et dirigeons des initiatives d’intérêt collectif tout au long de l’année; nous cherchons continuellement à avoir un effet palpable sur la vie des personnes les plus vulnérables de notre ville. Nous sommes très fiers de ce que nous avons réussi à réaliser ensemble. Avec votre engagement soutenu, nous continuerons de changer des vies et d’assurer un avenir florissant pour les communautés que nous desservons. Merci Ottawa. En bâtissant des partenariats forts et judicieux, et en travaillant en collaboration avec des organismes partenaires locaux, des ministères, des parties intéressées et des milliers de donateurs, nous pouvons avoir un effet positif dans la vie d’une personne tous les jours. En 2016-2017, vous avez aidé à changer environ 54 900 vies à Ottawa. J’ai accompli des choses dont je ne me savais pas capable. — Mo Réussite des jeunes La transition vers l’école secondaire était difficile pour Mo. Une nouvelle école, une charge de travail accrue, des attentes importantes… il avait de la difficulté à gérer le tout. « Il est difficile d’envisager votre avenir avec espoir alors que vous échouez à la classe de mathématiques en 9e année, » explique-t-il. Mo a fait beaucoup de chemin grâce au soutien et à l’aide qu’il a reçu du programme Students Will All Graduate (SWAG), financé par Centraide. Maintenant, rien ne peut l’arrêter; il se prépare à entamer le prochain chapitre de sa vie en tant qu’étudiant à l’université. (Depuis 2011) Mon emploi à la Banque du Canada a vraiment amélioré ma qualité de vie. — Heather Amélioration des conditions de vie Lorsque vous rencontrez Heather, il est facile de lui parler en raison de son sourire chaleureux et de son allure sympathique. Vous pouvez aussi dire que c’est une personne qui aime bien rire. Ce que vous ignorez toutefois à propos d’elle, jusqu’à ce que vous marchiez le long du corridor bien éclairé à ses côtés, c’est qu’elle souffre d’un handicap physique. Pour elle, le simple fait d’ouvrir une lourde porte vitrée ou d’utiliser les escaliers peut changer bien des choses en milieu de travail. Heather a trouvé un emploi valorisant à la Banque du Canada par l’entremise du Partenariat en accès, informations et ressources d’emploi (PAIRE), une initiative communautaire dirigée par Centraide Ottawa. Là-bas, les modifications en milieu de travail, aussi petites qu’elles le semblent, ont une incidence importante sur la vie de Heather. Ce ne sont que quelques-unes des émotions qu’une personne souffrant de problèmes de santé mentale peut ressentir. Les problèmes de santé mentale ne font pas de distinction; ils peuvent affecter une personne, peu importe son âge, son niveau d’éducation, son revenu ou sa culture. C’est pourquoi Richard consacre quatre heures de son temps, chaque semaine, au Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region, un organisme partenaire de Centraide. « Lorsque la vie me réservait des surprises, je pouvais toujours compter sur quelqu’un. Certaines personnes n’ont pas ce luxe, explique-t-il. Je suis content de pouvoir être une oreille attentive pour elles. » En investissant dans des initiatives qui facilitent l’accès aux services d’aide en matière de santé mentale et de crise, nous pouvons nous assurer que toute personne qui se sent vulnérable, perdue ou en danger peut obtenir de l’aide de façon immédiate, appropriée et avec soin. Significantly, there is no evidence of overt politicization. Harper has not forced departure of incumbent deputy ministers, nor has he appointed a significant number of known partisan allies from outside the public service. Instead, Harper has retained the overwhelming majority of deputy ministers who served the previous Liberal government. However, the 2006-07 transition also suggests considerable lateral career mobility of deputy ministers within the highest levels of government. The thesis argues that lateral mobility is explained by the "corporate" governance structure in the government of Canada, according to which deputy ministers are expected to identify with the government's broad policy goals and mobilize support for them.
