Perceptive – Installing ImageNow client on a workstation Installing the ImageNow client on a workstation PURPOSE – Any computer that is going to be used to scan or import documents into Avatar will need ImageNow installed. Monterey is hosted by Netsmart and requires that VPN Checkpoint be established prior to initiating ‘Launch POS Scan’ from within Avatar. 1. Installing the ImageNow Client • Open the ImageNow Client Build 6.7.0 (Patch Build 3543) > right click and select “run as Administrator” even if you use your $ account. Avatar – After hitting “launch POS” it should auto connect to the Sunflower screen but if it does not. Error msg = “Failed to load image now client”, it could be that it was installed incorrectly. If installed incorrectly, Uninstall program from control panel and then reinstall the ImageNow Client 6.7.0 (Patch Build 3543).exe • On the Welcome to the Installation Wizard dialog, click Next. • Enable the following icons to be installed: o ImageNow Client Files o Demo Help o Administrator Help o Support for Viewing Non-graphic Data o ImageNow Printer (this is not selected by default) Note: the picture below does not have the ImageNow Printer selected. • On the License Agreement window, scroll down to the bottom of the License Agreement and accept the terms of the License Agreement to activate the Next button. • All sub features will be installed on the local hard drive, click Next. • On the Default connection Profile window, enter the following information and then click Next. o Name: Monterey PROD o Server ID: montereyimagenow.netsmartcloud.com o Server Type: Test o Port Number: 6000 The default information entered above creates the connection profiles below: Monterey Perceptive - Installing ImageNow v3 0(Installing the ImageNow Client onto a workstation) 1 | Page Plexus Foundations Perceptive – Installing ImageNow client on a workstation • Select the Next twice, and then Install. Set-Up the Environment Variable • There is one system environment variable that need to be setup. • Navigate to the Control Panel and then select “System”. • Click on Advanced system settings. • A System Properties window will appear. Click on Environment Variables. • The Environment Variables window will appear. Click on New under system variables. Enter the following information: o Variable Name: PATH_INCLIENT o Variable Value: C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow6 (Windows 7) . If the workstation is 32 bit, enter: C:\Program Files\ImageNow6 (XP) • Enter Please Note: You will need to restart the machine after these have been setup. 3. Drop the Configuration Files • After you install ImageNow, but before you launch ImageNow, copy the 4 updated configuration files below and replace the old the configuration files in the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow6 o New Configuration Files to Copy: . ImageNowCOMControl.vbs . inscan.xml . inPackageViewer6.7.xml . imagenow.ini o Note: For 64 bit Windows 7 machines, the root folder for ImageNow will be C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow6 • Create an ‘ImageNow6’ folder in C:\Program Files. Copy the same 4 files above to this new location as well. Confirm the Configuration Files Replicated Correctly • NOTE: Once a user launches ImageNow on a workstation for the first time, the ImageNow6 Folder and configuration files from the root directory where ImageNow was installed, C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow6, replicates an identical ImageNow folder copy in the logged in users Local AppData folder. This only replicates once. o Example: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\ImageNow . Note: AppData is a hidden folder. If you do not see the AppData folder from the menu path above, you need to get access to see hidden folders. (see screenshot below) . • Once you have completed the install from the previous steps 1-3, check to see if the configuration files from the root directory where ImageNow was installed, (C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow6), is replicating into the local end user’s AppData Folder. • To check, simply launch ImageNow outside of Avatar. You will know the new configuration files replicated correctly if you see the connection profile say “PrairieCare UAT”. Monterey Perceptive - Installing ImageNow v3 0(Installing the ImageNow Client onto a workstation) 6 | Page Plexus Foundations Perceptive – Installing ImageNow client on a workstation • • If the Connection Profile says “Default” the configuration files did not push correctly from the root directory of C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow6 to the logged in user’s AppData Folder. You will need to manually refresh the Local Users AppData Folder. • Navigate to the following folder. C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\ Before • Highlight the ImageNow Folder and delete the entire folder. (Make Sure you are NOT deleting the root ImageNow6 Folder in C:\Program Files (x86) Monterey Perceptive - Installing ImageNow v3 0(Installing the ImageNow Client onto a workstation) 7 | Page Plexus Foundations Perceptive – Installing ImageNow client on a workstation After • Once you delete the ImageNow folder for the local user, the next time you launch ImageNow, the new configuration settings will duplicate from the root ImageNow Folder, with the updated settings, back into the logged in users AppData Folder. 5. Test ImageNow • To be able to import documents, the Avatar user must also be assigned to a User Role that has access to Scan and View Documents. • Test ImageNow by launching the application through Avatar, from within a Patient’s chart.
