The Köfererhof estate’s fi ve hectares fl ank the foothills of the Dolemite Mountains, growing at an altitude of 700 metres. Since 1995, Günther Kershbaumer, one of the best white winemakers in Italy, has been making the most of the thermal amplitude between day and night to produce fi nely honed wines with excel- lent aromatic character. The estate grows many varieties, including Kerner, Riesling, Sylvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Grigio and Veltliner, producing wines that are as exciting as they are unparalleled. 01 PINOT GRIGIO 2013 “The Pinot Grigio off ers aromas mostly centred on yellow fruits and smoky notes, while in the mouth its characteristic fattiness is well governed by its complex fl avours and fresh acidity.” — Italian Wines 2015, Gambero Rosso 420 2018 750 ml $29 GR 12641631 PERFETTO 5 ITALIA TRENTINO-ALTO ADIGE TRENTINO-ALTO ADIGE ALTO ADIGE VALLE ISARCO ALTO ADIGE Köfererhof Tramin Founded in 1898, Cantina Tramin is one of the oldest cooperatives in Alto Adige. The coopera- tive’s various vineyards are located between 250 and 900 metres of altitude. Cantina Tramin is renowned for its Pinot Grigios and Sauvignons, but is best known for its Nussbaumer cuvée made from Gewürztraminer. The Gewürztraminer is heavily infl uenced by the region’s climate, espe- cially the variation in temperatures between day and night, allowing the fruit to reach full maturity, with the cool mountain air imparting aromatic fi nesse. The man behind this success is Wilhelm (Willi) Stürz, Cantina Tramin’s technical director since 1995 and Gambero Rosso’s Winemaker of the Year in 2004. 02 03 RIESLING NUSSBAUMER GEWÜRZTRAMINER 2013 2013 “This superb Riesling is a showcase for Günther “A wine with a charming aromatic quality and plenty Kerschbaumer’s mastery of winemaking!
