Nursery I Welcome back! The children were happy to be back in school and begin learning again. It’s a winter wonderland in our classroom. This week we discussed all the clothing we wear in winter such as; coats, hats, scarves, boots and mittens. All the children dip-dotted colorful mittens and made alphabet rubber boots (please look for all their beautiful winter artwork hanging on the bulletin board outside our classroom). Story time is a favorite time in our classroom, this week we read some new books such as “The Little Red Sled”, “Teeny Tiny” and “Silly Sally” and some old favorite books such as; “Pinkalicious”, “The Three Bears”, “Caps For Sale” and “Opposites”. Our Shabbat Ima and Abba were Arielle & Ethan.

Nursery II Winter is certainly here! We returned from vacation and immediately started learning about winter. We read some new books about the cold and about the snow. We had to dress our weather frog for the snow. We painted a giant scarf in a ‘PATTERN’ of yellow, orange, yellow, orange. We had fun taking photos in our winter coats and hats. Even though it’s cold, we’re having a lot of fun. Shabbat Ima & Abba were Shir & Danny. Shabbat Shalom

Pre K I This week we learned the letter J for jacket, jet, jelly-bean, and jar. We learned the Hebrew letter “ ” for tallit “ , telephone “ , and good “ . We also started the Shabbat unit and made our tie-dye challah covers. The children had a great time making snow out of shaving cream and creating their own snowmen! They loved learning this week’s Parasha which told the story of how pharaoh’s daughter Batya saved baby Moshe from the water. Our Shabbat Aba this week was Ethan and our Ima was R. Shabbat Shalom!

Kindergarten English

We were all excited to come back to school. At least it seemed that way! We accomplished a lot. For Language Arts we read Little Quack (an animal fantasy), learned six amazing words, reviewed letter r and verbs (now and past) and discussed invitations. In math we compared numbers 1- 10 while for science we discussed the characteristics of birds and then talked about the brain. Mark Wed. Feb. 4 @ 9:30 on your calendar. Welcome back, we started our week by revising our Alef-bets and learned a new letter “Tet ”. The words starting with this letter were: Tov (good ), Ta-ba-at (ring ), Talit ( ). Mazal Tov for finishing the book of and starting the second book “shemot”. The children learned that in Parshat Shemot; The Bnai Yisrael became slaves, moreover, pharaoh ordered the Jewish nurses kill every new Jewish baby boys that are born!! 1st Grade Hebrew – ‘

Kita is very busy practicing for the Siddur party. Please make sure your child learns their part by heart. We learned about (winter) and our spelling words are related to the season. In Parsha we started the second book Shemot.

1st Grade English This week the first grade began chapter 5 in the math book. Please check your child's folder for the parent letter on this chapter. We also began a new unit in social studies. We are going to be learning about geography. We had a great week!

2nd Grade English

Welcome back students! After the long break we jumped right back into learning. In math, 2nd graders began a new chapter - adding 2-digit numbers. We continue to work on reading strategies and how to become better writers. Shabbat Shalom!

2nd Grade Hebrew A big welcome back to our students. We began taking our practice for the Choumash party very seriously. We caught up with the Parashat that we missed because of winter break. We have finished the first book of Bereshit and began the first Parasha in the second book: Parashat Shemot. We also began to learn how to properly build sentences. Shabbat Shalom!

3rd Grade English

This week the third grade began chapter 4 in math. We also read the story How the Desert Tortoise Got its Shell. This story is a myth that is known as a pourqui tale. The animals in the story act like . The children used a graphic organizer to show sequencing of the story. We had a very busy week

3rd Grade Hebrew We have practiced a lot on writing Chibourim (compositions). We finished learning the first book of Bereshit and began with the first Parsha of the 2nd book: Parsha Shemot. We continued the limoudin of Parashat Lech Lecha and out Hebrew comprehension.

4th Grade English The fourth grade has just finished reading “I Survived” and they also finished multiplication. They are really excited to be starting division next week.

4th Grade Hebrew This week we put more time into reading comprehension. The class learned how to better use the “makor” in writing and conversation. In Chumash we continue with Parashat “” 5th Grade English Happy New Year from the fifth graders. We hope everyone enjoyed the holiday break. This week we are reading a story called Leonardo’s horse. In science, we are learning about digestion and what happens when we swallow food.

5th Grade Hebrew The class really enjoys our daily Hebrew conversations, everyday it’s a different topic. We continue to work hard on our Hebrew grammar. In “navi” we continue on sefer shoftim
