The Kolkata Environmental Improvement Investment Program (KEIIP) is a key urban infrastructure initiative of the KMC, and aims to improve the environment and quality of life in parts of Kolkata Municipal Area mainly through improved water supply, sewerage, drainage and sanitation. The Project will be implemented over a 5-year period from 2014 to 2019. The Program is proposed to be implemented using a multi-tranche financing facility (MFF) of ADB. The first loan under the MFF, Tranche 1 or Loan 3053-IND, amounting to $100 million, was made effective on 30 May 2014. Project 1, supported by Tranche1, included subprojects for improvement of infrastructure, operations and sustainability in sewerage, drainage and water supply in KMC. Project 2, supported by the Tranche 2, will include physical and non-physical investments
