To Whom It May Concern:

Located on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard, Rowlett, is fast becoming a center for business and retail in North Texas. Rowlett’s proximity to Downtown and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) make it an ideal location for any office business. There are 54,270 citizens with a median age of 34 in Rowlett and projections show the population growing to over 60,000 in the next few years. The citizens of Rowlett are educated with 32% of the adult population attaining a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Rowlett is fast becoming one of the most accessible cities in North Texas. The President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) will bisect Rowlett and connect the city to DFW Airport and by the end of 2011. Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is also extending its light rail to Downtown Rowlett opening a direct link to Downtown Dallas and beyond. Located on State Highway 66, Rowlett is easily accessible to East Dallas and Rockwall.

The City of Rowlett has incentives to help your business be successful. Every project is examined on a case‐by‐case basis to determine which incentives are needed. Incentives include but are not limited to grants, loans, tax abatements, triple Freeport exemption, and training funds.

Infrastructure is constantly being updated. Rowlett was one of the first communities to install fiber optic cable throughout the community. Water is provided by the North Texas Municipal Water District and power is supplied by Oncor. Atmos Energy is the natural gas provider.

Schools in Rowlett are operated by the Garland Independent School District and the Rockwall Independent School District. Both school districts are TEA Recognized Districts. Rowlett is also in close proximity to Texas A&M‐Commerce, University of Texas at Dallas, Eastfield Community College, Richland Community College as well as many other institutions of higher education.

In this packet you will find more information on Demographics, Quality of Life, Community Colleges, 4 year Colleges and Universities, Utilities, Rowlett Aerial Map, PGBT Eastern Extension Map, and DART Light Rail Map, Zoning Map and Master Thoroughfare Plan Map.

Rowlett, Texas will be located on a major turnpike, connected with light rail, and has 30 miles of shoreline. For additional information please contact me.

Sincerely,

Ben White Director of Economic Development
