Position: Part-Time Mathematics Instructor Start Date: September 1, 2015 Certification: NYS Mathematics 7-12

Role and Responsibilities: St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, a Catholic, Lasallian, college preparatory for young men, located in Buffalo, N.Y., is soliciting applications for a part-time Mathematics Instructor to join our Community of Excellence.

Reporting to the Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching high school level mathematics— incorporating modern and ever-changing educational technology to suit students’ learning. The candidate will be expected to participate fully in all obligations of a high school teacher – including proctoring assignments, chaperoning events, attending extracurricular programming, and taking a leadership role as a model for the students, and as a member of our professional community.

Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements: The ideal candidate is engaged in experiences that are aligned with the mission of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. Content expertise is expected, as is the desire and ability to teach students of diverse backgrounds on an individual level. The desire to contribute as a life-long learner as part of a true professional learning community is a must.

Appropriate certifications and degrees are required. A completed (or in-progress) master’s degree is preferable.
