November vergeben Es war eine Weile ruhig um die höchste Auszeichnung der Nordwestschweizer Popszene, den Basler Pop- Preis. Im November 2018 ist er zum letzten Mal vergeben worden(an Audio Dope), dann hat der RFV Basel zusammen mit der Popmusikszene dem Spitzenförderungspreis ein neues Konzept verpasst und nun wird – trotz oder gerade wegen der Corona-Krise –der Basler Pop-Preis 2020 am 19. November zum elften Mal vergeben – natürlich ohne öffentliche Feier. Geplant ist ein Live-Stream der Verleihung. Der Preis ist neu mit 20 000 CHF statt bisher 15 000 CHF dotiert. Neues Verfahren für die Nominierung Erstmals konnten alle interessierten Musikfans ihre Vorschläge für den oder die Preisträger*in 2020 online einreichen. Über 250 verschiedene Namen von Bands und Musiker*innen aus der Region Basel sind beim RFV eigetroffen; 900 Musikfans haben teilgenommen. Nach der formalen Prüfung der Bands und ihrer Leistungsausweise durch die Geschäftsstelle des RFV Basel hat die fünfköpfige Fachjury nun ihre vier Favoriten aus diesen Vorschlägen ermittelt. Entscheidend für die Punktevergabe ist unter anderem der Leistungsausweis der Bands der letzten 24 Monate.
