Xotirasiz barkamol kishi bo‘lmaganidek, o‘z tarixini bilmagan xalqning kelajagi ham bo‘l maydi. Islom KARIMOV Milliy istiqlol o‘zbеk xalqining orzusi, armoni edi. O‘zbеkiston mustaqilligining qo‘lga kiritilishi eng ulkan g‘alaba, uning qadriga yеtish, mustahkamlash, avaylab saqlab qolish muhim vazifa. Har qanday mamlakatning qudrati, uning mustaqilligi, davlat chеgaralarining daxlsizligi o‘sha mamlakat fuqarolarining o‘z yurtiga mеhr-muhabbatli qilib tarbiyalanganliklari, milliy istiqlol uchun kurashda zarur bo‘lsa jon fido qilishga ham tayyor bo‘lishdеk oliyjanob fazilatlarga ega bo‘lishliklariga bog‘liqdir. Bu fazilatlarni xalqimiz, eng muhimi, yurtimiz kеlajagi bo‘lgan yoshlar ongida qaror toptirish va shakllantirishda Vatan tarixining o‘rni va imkoniyatlari chеksizdir. Vatan tarixini amalda qanday bo‘lgan bo‘lsa, shunday xolisona o‘rganish imkoniyatiga ega bo‘ldik. Sobiq sovеt hokimiyati yillarida kommunistik partiya yurgizgan siyosatning natijasi sifatida O‘zbеkiston maktablari, o‘rta maxsus va oliy o‘quv yurtlarida Vatan tarixini o‘qitish masalasiga umuman e’tibor berilmadi. Sovetlar hokimiyati yillarida mamlakatimizning haqiqiy, tom ma’nodagi tarixi xolisona yaratilmadi. Maktablar va o‘quv yurtlarida o‘qitilgan darslik va adabiyotlarda ona tariximiz soxtalashtirildi. Natijada o‘zbek xalqining ma’naviy hayotiga putur yetdi, xalqning siyosiy ongi o‘tmaslashdi, ijtimoiy-siyosiy voqealarga befarqlik, loqaydlik hissi kuchaydi. Chunki mustamlaka asoratiga solingan xalqlarni siyosiy qorong‘ilik va zulmatda saqlash yo‘li bilangina ular ustidan hukmronlikni o‘rnatish mumkin edi. www.ziyouz.com kutubxonasi K I R I SH 5 Chor Rossiyasi va sobiq sovet mustamlakachilari qariyb 130 yillik hukmronligi davomida o‘lkamiz xalqlari o‘rtasida ruslashtirish siyosatini olib bordilar, xalqimizni tarixidan, o‘z ona tilidan, dinidan judo qilish yo‘lini tutdilar, shaklan milliy, mazmunan sotsialistik madaniyat bayrog‘i ostida milliy urf-odatlarimiz, axloq-odob va madaniyatimizga xuruj qildilar. O‘zbekistonni Markazning xomashyo yetkazib beruvchi bazasiga aylantirdilar. Kommunistik partiya bunday siyosatni sobiq Ittifoq hududidagi barcha respublikalarda va sotsialistik hamdo‘stlik mamlakatlarida yurgizgan. Ikkinchi jahon urushidan keyin sobiq Ittifoqning barcha respublikalariga, sotsialistik hamdo‘stlik mamlakatlariga Markaz- ning buyrug‘i yuborilib, unda turli mavzularda ko‘rsatmalar belgilandi. Xususan buyruqlardan birida quyidagi jumlalar ham bor edi. «Mahalliy aholi orasidan yetishib chiqqan rahbarlarning ommaviy chiqishlarida milliy bo‘yoq berilishga yo‘l qo‘yiladi, ammo u millatning o‘sishiga, birlashuviga xizmat qilmasligi kerak. Boshlang‘ich va o‘rta maktablarda, o‘rta va oliy oquv yurtlarida o‘ta e’tibor qozongan o‘qituvchilar ishdan chetlashtirilishi lozim bo‘ladi. Ularning o‘rniga biz tomondan belgilangan kishilarni qo‘yish kerak. Tarix darslarida o‘tmishdagi siyosatdonlardan kimlar vatan ravnaqi uchun xizmat qilishgani yoki xizmat qilishga urunishgani haqida gapirish mumkin emas, e’tiborni faqat podsholar zulmi va ularga qarshi qaratilgan xalq kurashiga burmoq lozim bo‘ladi...» Kommunistik partiyaning yurgizgan bunday ulug‘ davlatchilik mafkuraviy siyosati xalqimiz va millatimiz taqdiri uchun ayanchli oqibat va natijalarga olib keldi. Vatan tarixini bilmaslik o‘zbek xalqining milliy qadriyatlari va urf-odatlaridan uzoqlashish oqibatida jamiyatda shunday avlod vakillari shakllandiki, ularning aksariyatida milliy ong va milliy g‘urur tushunchalari so‘nib ketdi. Ularning ongida O‘zbekiston taqdiriga, o‘zbek millati taqdiriga, madaniyatimiz, tariximiz va tilimiz, dinimiz taqdiriga loqayd va befarqlik munosabatlari g‘oyasi ustuvor mavqeni egalladi. Millat istiqboli uchun vaziyat shu darajada halokatli nuqtaga yetdiki, O‘zbekiston Respublikasi o‘zining davlat mustaqilligiga erishgandan keyin ham, o‘z taqdirimizni o‘zimiz hal qilish imkoniyatiga ega bo‘lganimizdan so‘ng Vatan tarixini o‘qitishga qarshi kurash yo‘lini tutuvchilar ham bo‘ldilar. Ular o‘z «g‘oyalari»ni asoslashga intilib, «O‘zbekiston tarixini jahon xalqlari tarixi bilan birga qo‘shib o‘qitish kerak», «O‘zbekiston tarixi — bu maktab fani», «Oliy o‘quv www.ziyouz.com kutubxonasi 6 VATAN TARIXI yurtlarida O‘zbekiston tarixining o‘rniga O‘zbekistonning ijtimoiy- siyosiy tarixini o‘qitish lozim», «Jahon xalqlari tarixini o‘qitishga o‘tish darkor», «Oliy o‘quv yurtlarida umuman O‘zbekiston tarixini o‘qitishga ehtiyoj yo‘q» kabi fikrlarni o‘rtaga tashladilar. Albatta, bu milliy g‘oyasizlik milliy g‘aflat va milliy vijdon inqirozining tub o‘zagida o‘z ona tarixidan bexabarlik yotadi. Bu esa qullik, tobelik va mustamlaka muteligining asosiy ayanchli ko‘rinishidir. Darhaqiqat, qullik, tobеlik

  • The Devils' Dance
THE DEVILS’ DANCE TRANSLATED BY THE DEVILS’ DANCE HAMID ISMAILOV DONALD RAYFIELD TILTED AXIS PRESS POEMS TRANSLATED BY JOHN FARNDON The Devils’ Dance جينلر بازمي The jinn (often spelled djinn) are demonic creatures (the word means ‘hidden from the senses’), imagined by the Arabs to exist long before the emergence of Islam, as a supernatural pre-human race which still interferes with, and sometimes destroys human lives, although magicians and fortunate adventurers, such as Aladdin, may be able to control them. Together with angels and humans, the jinn are the sapient creatures of the world. The jinn entered Iranian mythology (they may even stem from Old Iranian jaini, wicked female demons, or Aramaic ginaye, who were degraded pagan gods). In any case, the jinn enthralled Uzbek imagination. In the 1930s, Stalin’s secret police, inveigling, torturing and then executing Uzbekistan’s writers and scholars, seemed to their victims to be the latest incarnation of the jinn. The word bazm, however, has different origins: an old Iranian word, found in pre-Islamic Manichaean texts, and even in what little we know of the language of the Parthians, it originally meant ‘a meal’. Then it expanded to ‘festivities’, and now, in Iran, Pakistan and Uzbekistan, it implies a riotous party with food, drink, song, poetry and, above all, dance, as unfettered and enjoyable as Islam permits. I buried inside me the spark of love, Deep in the canyons of my brain. Yet the spark burned fiercely on And inflicted endless pain. When I heard ‘Be happy’ in calls to prayer It struck me as an evil lure.

  • Early Stages of Archaeological Study of the Kashkadarya Oasis
CURRENT RESEARCH JOURNAL OF HISTORY 2(7): 26-33, July 2021 DOI: https://doi.org/10.37547/history-crjh-02-07-06 ISSN 2767-472X ©2021 Master Journals Accepted 23th July, 2021 & Published 28thJuly, 2021 EARLY STAGES OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE KASHKADARYA OASIS Nilufar Rajabova Associate Professor, Department Of World History, Karshi State University, Uzbekistan ABSTRACT The article analyzes the first stages of studying the archaeological sites of the Kashkadarya oasis from a historical point of view. Beginning in the 18th century, Europeans began to record information about the Kashkadarya oasis. Their main focus is on highlighting the lifestyle of the population, as well as information on historical monuments. In particular, in memoirs, reports and brochures, A. Burns, N. Khannykov, V.V. Bartold, N. Maev, V. Krestovsky, B. Litvinov, D. Logofet, A. Validov, I. Kastane, L. Zimin, you can get a lot of information on this topic. Despite this, the first studies were mostly brief. Most importantly, the attention of architects and art critics is focused on the history of architectural structures in Shakhrisabz, built during the reign of Amir Temur and the Temurids. However, attempts to shed light on the history of the cities of Karshi and Shakhrisabz based on written sources consisted in a collection of the first archaeological observations, historical artifacts and manuscripts. Noteworthy is the information written by N. Khannykov, V.V. Bartold, N. Mayev. Subsequent studies also made extensive use of their memoirs. B. Litvinov's information about the Kashkadarya oasis was supplemented by his drawings. According to Logofet, the history of the city of Shakhrisabz is emphasized, and archaeological excavations show that its history goes back two thousand years.

This page intentionally left blank A HISTORY OF INNER ASIA Geographically and historically Inner Asia is a confusing area which is much in need of interpretation.Svat Soucek’s book offers a short and accessible introduction to the history of the region. The narrative, which begins with the arrival of Islam, proceeds chrono- logically, charting the rise and fall of the changing dynasties, the Russian conquest of Central Asia and the fall of the Soviet Union. Dynastic tables and maps augment and elucidate the text. The con- temporary focus rests on the seven countries which make up the core of present-day Eurasia, that is Uzbekistan, Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Sinkiang, and Mongolia. Since 1991, there has been renewed interest in these countries which has prompted considerable political, cultural, economic, and religious debate. While a vast and divergent literature has evolved in consequence, no short survey of the region has been attempted. • The Devils' Dance
THE DEVILS’ DANCE TRANSLATED BY THE DEVILS’ DANCE HAMID ISMAILOV DONALD RAYFIELD TILTED AXIS PRESS The Devils’ Dance رلنج یمزب The jinn (often spelled djinn) are demonic creatures (the word means ‘hidden from the senses’), imagined by the Arabs to exist long before the emergence of Islam, as a supernatural pre-human race which still interferes with, and sometimes destroys human lives, although magicians and fortunate adventurers, such as Aladdin, may be able to control them.
