For the first time in seveial centuries, members of the Clan were able to meet their Chief. He stood with them, marched with them, shook their hands and posed for photographs. At times the line was 1 0 deep waiting for the chance to greet The Buchanan. Throughout it all, Michael Buchanan and his wife Paula, were very gracious and willing to meet everyone and spend time with them. Their children Angus, Bruce and Lucy also spent many hours at the Clan Tent. Many ofus had the opportunity to get to know them and talk about the future of the Clan and we can assure you the futrne is looking pretty good. And now Michael and Paula head off to Australia to meet with our kin Down Under. After the surprise two years ago of learning we might have a Chief, many of us wondered what we, and the Society, could expect. We had no experience with a Chief and no modern Clan history to look back on. We got the answer in New Hampshire. We have a Chief and the Honor of the Clan looks brighter still! Clarior Hinc Honos! "This gave me a real fright as I could not work out what could have caused such a dramatic thing as she hadjust been standing still before this happened. "So, I picked her up and we took her to the vets to see what was wrong with her. It was not long before she had been diagnosed with a slipped disc and within one or two days was recovering from major spinal surgery. You can see her stitches in the photo on the top left.
