Metro Vancouver Beach Water Quality
Metro Vancouver area beaches are monitored weekly throughout the swimming season as a geometric mean over the most recent 30 days. Guidelines recommend a level of ≤ 200 E.coli/100 mL bacteria for primary contact recreational activities. When the geometric mean exceeds this amount, an assessment will be made to determine possible health risks and possibly post a warning sign indicating, “This water is contaminated and is unsafe for swimming”.
