Internship Positions Opportunity to work in our 4 divisions and to customize your summer work experience: - Landscape Maintenance - Landscape Installation (hard & soft scaping) - Irrigation - Plant Health Care Your summer internship will entail the following: • Full-time hours 8:00-4:45 • Weekends, evenings and holidays off • Beautiful work locations around the city • Make friends working on a diverse team • Variety of tasks and teams • Ample opportunities for career development • Excellent on-the-job training Visit our careers page at www.paraspaceinc.com Your Qualifications • Current student or recent graduate • Punctual, trustworthy, and reliable • Maintain landscapes in various settings (HOA, commercial) to high standard • Willing to do physically demanding, hands-on work • Perform various landscaping tasks and operate equipment • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver timely results • Positive and professional team attitude • Work cooperatively to foster a harmonious working relationship with all co-workers and other departments • Valid Driver’s License an asset • Able to lift 50 lbs Your Perks • $19 per hour and 4% paid vacation • Free in-house education (dinner included - see next page for more details) • Extended long weekend for BC Day in August • Staff social events • Safety gear, tools and equipment provided We will provide you with: • Legal support to obtain a work permit • Work permit and legal fees will be covered • Housing accomodations • Round-trip flight to Vancouver Follow us on Instagram @paraspaceinc Free In-House Education Program The seminars in the Horticulture Seminar Program are designed to provide both practical and technical training for Para Space’s employees. These free seminars may be required as qualifications for positions within the company, or may be taken simply for general interest. Most seminars will combine classroom instruction with demonstration and some “hands-on” practice. Over 45 seminars to choose from including: • Machine Maintenance • Plant Nutrients and Fertilization Application • Fall Protection Safety • Hardscaping - Retaining Walls • Bedwork and Beyond • Dynamic Leadership • Irrigation Basics • Developing a Landscape Eye Para Space University Continuing education is extremely important to us and we want to give staff an even greater opportunity to increase their knowledge and be recognized for their hard earned efforts! All participants will receive certificates of completion for each component they graduate from. university Internship Goals We want to make sure that we are providing opportunities and experiences that will help you achieve your educational and career goals. We are a full-service landscaping company that can offer work experience in any of our divisions (maintenance, landscape construction, plant health care and irrigation). Our structured orientations and on-the-job training can be complimented by attending any of our voluntary in-house seminars. Throughout the summer we would have a formal meeting each month to offer you feedback and discuss your experience. Para Space can provide further infomation on the process and we will pay 100% of visa application fees. LODGING If successfully hired, Para Space will invest its time and resources to find suitable accommodation which will be paid for you! Let Para Space find you the perfect space! GETTING AROUND Our city is incredible in many ways and there is no doubt you will want to explore it all! Luckily, Metro Vancouver has a great transit system to help you get around, from bus to SeaBus! All crew leaders, estimators, and managers have full use of our company trucks for work as it is much easier to get themselves and all the tools from work to the jobsite, and they also get to take their truck home daily. HEALTH CARE It is recommended to purchase travel insurance before arriving to Canada. There are several options to receive adequate coverage while visiting on a work permit. However, Extended Benefits (prescriptions, dental, vision, etc.) are offered through the company, regardless of your citizenship, and you would be eligible for benefits through Para Space if you make Vancouver your home!
