I. Introduction and Methodology Russian Forces Are Pouring Cluster
SNHR is an independent, non-governmental, nonprofit, impartial human rights organization that was founded in June 2011. SNHR Wednesday, July 22, 2016 is a certified source for the United Nation in all of its statistics. Russian Forces are Pouring Cluster Munition over Syria No less than 54 Russian Cluster Attacks Recorded before the Cessation of Hostilities Statement I. Introduction I. Introduction and Methodology II. Executive The Syrian regime started using cluster munition in 2012, Summary and has been using it ever since. We have published several III. Details reports documenting the use of cluster munition over the IV. Conclusions and past five years. We claimed that the Syrian regime is the Recommendations worst in the world in terms of cluster munition use in the Acknowledgments past few years as our colleagues in the Cluster Munition Coalition have proven in a number of reports as did our colleagues in Human Rights Watch. Since 2013, 113 state members of the United Nations General Assembly have condemned the exhaustive use of cluster munition by the Syrian regime. However, this apparently wasn’t enough to stop the Syrian regime from using cluster munition. On 30 September 2015, Russian forces entered the Syrian conflict under the request of the Syrian regime, and while the United Nations General Assembly’s resolution to con- demn the use of cluster munition didn’t deter the Syrian regime, it certainly wouldn’t deter the Russian regime who has more audacity to disregard and offend the inter- national humanitarian law. We have recorded a number of instances of cluster munition use by the Russian regime in Syria. -
Khirbet Ghazaleh, Al-Kutaybah and Naamer Towns Turn Into Military
About Syrians for Truth and Justice/STJ Syrians for Truth and Justice /STJ is a nonprofit, nongovernmental, independent Syrian organization. STJ includes many defenders and human rights defenders from Syria and from different backgrounds and affiliations, including academics of other nationalities. The organization works for Syria, where all Syrians, without discrimination, should be accorded dignity, justice and equal human rights. 1 Khirbet Ghazaleh, al-Kutaybah, and Naamer Towns Turn into Military Barracks after Displacing Residents Special Report Highlighting Suffering of Some Forcibly Displaced Persons in Daraa Province – Southern Syria 2 Introduction The residents of Khirbet Ghazaleh, al-Kutaybah and Naamer towns located in Daraa countryside are still displaced outside their towns for the fifth consecutive year. Since seizure of those towns in 2013, the Syrian regular forces have prevented tens of thousands of civilians from returning to their homes and towns despite the multiple attempts. The Syrian regular forces emptied these villages from their residents and turned them into fully positioned military barracks, making the majority of the population either internally displaced in armed opposition-controlled areas in the eastern countryside of Daraa, or migrants out of the country to be refugees in refugee camps, the field researcher of Syrians for Truth and Justice/STJ stated. According to many testimonies obtained by STJ, most of the residents of these towns displaced following a fierce military campaign carried out by the Syrian regular forces on their areas in mid- March 2013. The regime used artillery and aerial bombardment to break into those towns and extract them from the armed opposition1. This campaign caused many civilian casualties, in addition to the numerous practices committed by the Syrian regular forces against the civilians being looting or vandalizing their property. -
