Ny Musikk Fra Wild Nothing – Hør Første Smakebit Fra Albumet Foto: Cara Robbins 21-06-2018 18:06 CEST Ny musikk fra Wild Nothing – hør første smakebit fra albumet "Indigo" Nytt album fra Wild Nothing: "Indigo" slippes 31. august 2018 Hør den nye låta "Letting Go" Wild Nothing er prosjektet til Los Angeles-baserte Jack Tatum, som nå er aktuell med sitt fjerde album, "Indigo". "Indigo" skal slippes 31. august via Captured Tracks. I tillegg til nyheten om det kommende albumet og en turné i Nord-Amerika, har vi fått høre første singel og albumets åpningsspor, "Letting Go". HØR DEN NYE SINGELEN "LETTING GO" HER Fra trommene i introen, de skimrende gitarene og den svevende synthen i "Letting Go", til den drivende beaten og den storslagne, luftige lyden man hører i albumets avslutningspor "Bend" – det er åpenbart at "Indigo" byr på både vintage Wild Nothing, som på debuten "Gemini" fra 2010, og samtidig markerer et dristig steg videre til et større sound hvor han inkorporerer elementer fra oppfølgerne "Nocturne" og "Life of Pause". På "Indigo" hører vi Tatum på sitt mest effektive, kalkulerte og selvsikre, etter et tiår som Wild Nothing. "Indigo" ble til ved at Tatum lagde detaljerte demoer i studioet sitt, ved hjelp av gitarer, keyboards, plug-ins og programmer. Intensjonen var å spille inn de ferdige låtene på kort tid med et live-band for å oppnå det han kaller "a clear, bright, 1980's-inspired fidelity". Tatum booket Sunset Sound's Studio i fire dager og hyret inn trommis Cam Allen og gitarist Benji Lysaght. Selv spilte han bass. Produsent Jorge Elbrecht (Ariel Pink, Gang Gang Dance, Japanese Breakfast) og Tatum bygget videre på innspillingene og mikset albumet i Denver i løpet av kun ti dager, før Tatum gjorde siste finpuss hjemme i studioet sitt i Los Angeles. Tatum forteller: "I wanted it to sound like a classic studio record, as close as I could get it there. It just boils down to me wanting to fit into some larger narrative, musically, in terms of these artists I love. I think about how my music will age.     SGA releases statement of student values By Avery Rowlison Following up on a Joint Board resolution, SGA recently drafted a Student Statement of Values for Grinnell. Throughout the year, an SGA committee met weekly to write the Statement of Values. They began by brainstorming values that they thought were important to students on campus. “We found that they fell into three broad categories … community, communication and diversity,” said SGA President Ben Offenberg ’11, who led the committee. From there, the committee carefully expanded each idea into writing. “We didn’t rush it,” Offenberg said. “I was very cautious … because I wanted us to have time and really adjust what we wanted to get at.” Though the document has been mostly well received, some students, such as Tom Elliott ’11, don’t think it is necessary or fair. “By creating a document that says that these are the values of Grinnell is basically excluding any other values,” Elliott said. “I also don’t see that this is something that students really want.” Supporters of the Statement of Values disagree, such as committee member Camila Barrios Camacho ’12. “I think this is something that we’ve needed for a while and is something that many of our peer institutions have implemented already,” she said referring to the student statement of values at St. Olaf College, University of Colorado at Boulder and Lewis and Clark College. Opponents contend that the statement is limiting and oppressive because it attempts to define the values of each student on campus without everyone’s input. However, the committee in charge of creating the document is very diverse and represents a wide variety of student interests in campus, according to Offenberg.

Una guía espiritual para mucha gente y un verda- dero genio artístico en todo sentido. Su presencia en este mundo cambió la vida de tantas personas, que no nos alcanzarían las páginas para contarlas. Las innumerables muestras de dolor y cariño que salieron posterior a su deceso, nos sacaron más de una lágrima. Aunque dentro de todo ese dolor, algo más surgió: la celebración de la vida de una persona que parece no haber sido humano. David Bowie era más que eso y en este número lo home- najeamos como él se merece. En la portada tenemos a una banda que, desde que aparecieron en nuestro radar hace más de cuatro años atrás, han ido subien- do tanto su nivel creativo como su popularidad.
