Service Alerts – Digital Displays TriMet has digital displays at most MAX Light Rail stations to provide real-time arrival information as well as service disruption/delay messaging. Some of the displays are flat screens as shown to the right. Others are reader boards. The messages need to be as condensed as possible. During the First Avenue MAX Improvements we posted the alerts listed below on our digital displays. At a few key locations, we had targeted messaging to help riders navigate the service changes. MAX Blue/Red displays MAX Blue and Red lines disrupted, running on 5th and 6th in City Center. All lines less frequent. trimet.org/firstavenue MAX Green displays MAX Green Line running between Rose Quarter and Clackamas only. A callout on our website directs riders on how they can sign up for the service updates. Riders can subscribe to alerts by MAX Light Rail line, bus line, WES Commuter Rail line or they can subscribe to alerts for all lines. For the First Avenue MAX Improvements we sent initial service alerts out two weeks in advance of the project and then reminders. The line will split into two segments. The west side segment will run between Hillsboro and Library/Galleria stations. The east side segment shifts to 5th and 6th avenues and runs between Portland State University and Gresham. Trains will run on reduced frequency and special schedules. Trains will be extremely crowded during rush hours. GREEN LINE MAX Green Line will be disrupted and not operate in Portland City Center.
