Service Alerts – Digital Displays

TriMet has digital displays at most MAX stations to provide real-time arrival information as well as service disruption/delay messaging. Some of the displays are flat screens as shown to the right. Others are reader boards. The messages need to be as condensed as possible. During the First Avenue MAX Improvements we posted the alerts listed below on our digital displays. At a few key locations, we had targeted messaging to help riders navigate the service changes.

Riders can subscribe to alerts by line, bus line, WES line or they can subscribe to alerts for all lines. For the First Avenue MAX Improvements we sent initial service alerts out two weeks in advance of the project and then reminders.

### Service Alerts - Online

TriMet has a page on our website dedicated to service alerts by line: trimet.org/alerts. For the First Avenue MAX Improvements we posted a general service alert to all MAX Light Rail lines two weeks in advance of the project. Four days before the project we removed the general alert and posted specific line-by-line alerts, which were maintained throughout the project. We also posted a special service alert box on our website that populates at the top of most pages of the site to capture attention. It was posted a week before the project began and was yellow in color. Once the project began, the box was made red as to further capture the visitor’s eye.
