Day 1: Sunday, September 30 • Depart USA Depart Cleveland on independently scheduled overnight flights to , . Day 2: Monday, October 1 • Arrive in Rome Arrive in Rome and transfer independently to your hotel. Check in is available after 3 PM. Enjoy a welcome reception and dinner with the Patrons. Day 3: Tuesday, October 2 • Museum Collections | Palazzo Colonna Visit the Mosaic School in and see the artisans at work in the detailed, painstaking, and incredible art of creating mosaics. Take a guided tour through the Jewelry museum and end with a tour of the Carriage Museum. Enjoy a light reception on the platform going up to the Cupola and the panoramic views of Rome from the top of St. Peter’s Basilica. Stop for lunch on the way to Palazzo Colonna, cost on your own. Later this afternoon, visit Palazzo Colonna and take in the fabulous art collections of the palace. Dinner on your own. Day 4: Wednesday, October 3 • Papal Audience | Special seating at the Papal Audience this morning. Continue by motorcoach on to Trastevere to enjoy time for lunch on your own and then take a walking tour of one of Rome’s most beautiful neighborhoods – Trastevere. Tour the Basilica of Santa Maria, one of the oldest Churches in Rome and Santa Cecilia. Take in the breathtaking sight of Rome from the Janiculum Hill and visit St. Peter’s in Montorio, where you will see Bramante’s Tempietto. Enjoy dinner tonight at a lovely outdoor restaurant (weather permitting). Day 5: Thursday, October 4 • Restoration Labs | Vatican Gardens Visit the Vatican Restoration labs and the Tapestry labs this morning, followed by Private lunch in the Gregorian Profane overlooking Vatican Gardens. After lunch have a firsthand view with a private guide to Tour the Vatican Gardens. This afternoon take time to shop in the Vatican Gift shop and peruse the museums, if desired, on your own and enjoy leisure time this evening. Dinner on your own. Day 6: Friday, October 5 • Tivoli | Swiss Guard Barracks Depart by motorcoach to visit beautiful Tivoli to see Hadrian’s Villa and the Villa d’Este and all the gardens. Enjoy lunch in Tivoli before returning to Rome. This evening take a private tour of the Swiss Guard Barracks and step behind the scenes into the life of the guards in the smallest and oldest military in the world. Dinner on your own. Day 7: Saturday, October 6 • Free Morning | Patrons Gala Enjoy the morning and early afternoon at leisure. This afternoon return to the Vatican for vigil Mass at Santo Stefano, degli Abissni church, followed by a private walk through the museums and evening visit at the . End the evening with a reception and Gala dinner in the Vatican Museums. Day 8: Sunday, October 7 • Borghese Museum | Palazzo Pamphili This morning, visit the Borghese Museum and enjoy the vast collections of the once powerful Borghese family, including works from the great Bernini, Caravaggio, and others. Enjoy lunch as a group following the tour (cost on own). This afternoon tour through the palace of the famous Pamphili family, relatives of Innocent X. Tour through the Princess’s private apartments and art collections at the Palace overlooking . Farewell Reception and Dinner to follow. Day 9: Monday, October 8 • Return to USA Depart on independently scheduled return flights home.
