Part-time 0.4 fixed term for 1 year in the first instance Reports To : Ben Willson – Assistant Principal at Academy Start Date: 1 January 2017 or earlier. Salary: Grade 9 (£32,164- £36,019) – Actual Salary£12,865 - £14,407)

Main Purpose of Job • Coordinate and facilitate the Wincanton, Bruton & Castle Cary “Team Around The School” Strategy in order that schools and support agencies are able to effectively support vulnerable children in our schools • Manage the team of Parent and Family Support Advisors (PFSAs) working in Wincanton, Bruton and Castle Cary Schools

Main Responsibilities and Duties • Develop and maintain a register of vulnerable children within our school. • Track and monitor the child, young person and family’s progress, using the Early Help Assessment Tool and behaviour and Vulnerability profile Tool as appropriate and referral process as necessary. Identify resources and coordinate and evaluate a package of support for children and young people who are in need. • Promote the Safeguarding Children Board ‘Effective Support for Children and Families in Somerset- Thresholds for assessment and services’ guidance. • Develop and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, ensuring that there are effective working relationships with early years providers, schools, colleges, police, local authority services, health providers and other key agencies with the Wincanton, Bruton and Castle Cary area. • Coordinate regular Team Around The School Meetings so that attendees time is used effectively to improve the support for vulnerable children and their family. • Maintain effective communication with Team Around The School attendees, likely to include pastoral/safeguarding leads in pre schools, schools and Colleges, the police, local authority services, health providers and other support agencies. • Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of intervention strategies.

• Report regularly to the Wincanton, Bruton and Castle Cary Early Help Steering Group. • Manage the work of PFSAs within the Bruton, Wincanton and Castle Cary Schools • Represent the group of schools at Local Authority level and liaise with officers as needed. • TAS Co-ordinator to be a member of the TAS Steering Group which meets once a half term and prepare reports to evidence outcomes as requested by the local authority.

Physical Effort And Working Conditions • Working within a shared office based at Ansford Academy and in schools and academies within the Wincanton, Bruton and Castle Cary area. • The post will include some travel to meetings within our group of schools and across Somerset.

Contacts and relationships • The post holder will work closely alongside the two CLP Co-ordinators and will have direct contact with schools across our area. • The post holder will build and maintain good working relationships with PFSA’s and other professionals

Additional information • Travel will be necessary for this role and therefore a clean driving licence and access to a car is essential. • Although the post is advertised at 15 hours, there will be an expectation that the post holder will work flexibly over their working week in order to attend meetings. • The Wincanton, Bruton and Castle Cary group of schools is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and their families and all staff working with these groups are expected to share a commitment to this.
