Duties: Designing outreach activities about arthropods and other arthropod- related organisms (i.e. carnivorous plants) that inspired Pokémon characters, and showing how the appearances, behaviors and life histories of the Pokémon characters reflect their real-life counterparts. Handling Madagascar hissing cockroaches, Vietnamese stick insects, Australian spiny leaf insects, death feigning-beetles, Bess beetles and vinegaroons.

2015 Event: Exploration-U: Bellefonte Family Science Night. November 10th, 2015. Bellefonte Area High School, Bellefonte, PA. Audience: General public, geared towards students of the Bellefonte area and their families. Number of People in Attendance: ~600 Topics Covered: Insect camouflage. Duties: Designed an outreach activity to educate children about insect camouflage. Demonstrated how different insects are adapted to different environments, and how insects use camouflage to hide from predators and capture prey.
