! A PRACTICAL INCLUSION TIP T U So ALL of Us Feel Valued and Welcome at BAYT

O D INCLUSION – RESPONDING TO GREETINGS L O So important is it to respond to a greeting that Jewish law permits us to S T interrupt some of the most important prayers, during which it is nor- S O mally forbidden to speak, in order to return a greeting. If the person who M greets us understands that we are praying, and can’t break off to return L A their greeting, then we should not do so. But if he/she won’t understand this, and will be hurt or antagonized, we should respond. (“. . . since if one will not greet him/her, the other can come to hatred.” (Chofetz Chaim, Mishneh Berurah 66:2.) Rabbi S. Wagschal explains: “This does not apply nowadays since we are accustomed to not interrupting in the middle of praying.” (Guide to Derech Eretz, p.15)

IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS Parents are reminded that they are responsible for their children while on Shul property. Every child must be in a Minyan or with a parent. This is essential for the safety of our children and the protection of Shul property. The Shul will demand reimbursement from any parent whose child is found damaging Shul property.

Strollers & Carriages We have limited space for storage of strollers and baby carriages in the utility room behind the lower floor elevator. Unfortunately, they cannot be stored in the building hallways and lobbies since they present a hazard in the event of a required evacuation. Any stroll- ers found in the hallways will be relocated to the utility room.
