Shabbatot Shabbatot in Yeshivat Sderot have proven throughout the years to be enjoyable, enriching and inspiring. Sichot, Shiurim, Friday night “Tishes” together with unbelievable zmirot, especially at Seuda Shlishit, make the Shabbat experience something you won't want to miss. On many Shabbatot we will host various guest speakers, and have Melave Malkas. When the Talmidim choose to leave for Shabbat, we will help them make accommodations. Naturally, the Israeli talmidim will be more than happy to host them at any given time. There will also be Shabatonim in various locations around the country, carefully picked to allow the Talmidim to learn as much as possible about the many cultures and different lifestyles in Israel. Chagim The Yamim Noraim, Simchat Torah, Channuka, , Yom Haatzmaut, Yom Yerushalayim, and Shavuot, are also celebrated in Yeshiva, and are considered to be the highlights of the year. The energy and Simcha among the Talmidim create a magnificent atmosphere of a powerful yeshiva environment. The blend of magnificent singing and dancing together with the Divrei Torah make the Chag an unforgettable experience. During the of and Pesach, we will assist the talmidim in finding accommodations. Extra Curriculum Activities

Torat Chesed We believe that volunteering should be an integral part of the Talmidim's daily schedule. The Yeshiva encourages the Talmidim to volunteer during their their free time in a variety of Chesed and Kiruv programs, mostly in the city of Sderot. Some of the opportunities include food packaging for the needy in the Sderot Chesed Center, "adopting" a young brother for the year, learning with younger students in their schools and in the Beit Midrash, Magen David Adom, and helping the elderly. These are just some of the opportunities that exist. In addition to the local chesed, the Talmidim will have a few "Chesed days", in which they will travel around the country helping non-profit organizations with their needs. Special programs program takes place once a week, where the Talmidim "דבש וחלב תחת לשונך" The are invited to the homes of their Rabbeim to learn and discuss relevant topics.. “Schmoozing” with the Rebbe for an hour or two over some home baked refreshments gives the Talmidim an opportunity to make a special and informal connection with the Rebbe and fellow Talmidim. The students are also invited once a week to one of our members’ homes, where they also have the opportunity to forge a relationship with a younger Talmid Chacham and his family. The "Hebrew Land Tour" is an optional program starting two weeks before the beginning of the Zman, specially designed to improve the Talmidim's Hebrew skills quickly and efficiently. For two weeks the Talmidim will enjoy army training, farm working and hiking around the country combined with Hebrew lessons, allowing them to learn the in a fun and creative way. Tiyulim and Shabbatonim The overseas talmidim will enjoy a series of fun and educational Shabbatonim and Tiyulim spaced throughout the year. These trips allow the students to take a little break from their studies, and experience a more relaxed environment where they can bond with their peers and Ramim. The main goal is to give the talmidim the opportunity to develop a greater love and appreciation for Eretz Yisrael. Travelling across the country, the talmidim will be exposed to a diverse range of communities, beautiful sights, and many historical landmarks. Some of the highlights will include Shabbatonim in Tzfat, , Yerushalayim, Chevron, hiking trips around and Ramat Hagolan, the Kotel Tunnels, Yad Vashem, Lag Baomer trip to Miron, visiting a Matza factory before Pesach. This is just a very small sample of what we have planned. In addition to the official tiyulim, we will encourage joint private hikes with the Israeli Talmidim during "Bein Hazmanim" - when Talmidim are on vacation. General FAQs about Sderot

Where is Sderot? Sderot is a bit over an hour ride to Yerushalayim and 50 minutes away from . The bus and train systems are very efficient Is it safe? Baruch Hashem, Sderot has experienced quiet for a relatively long time. As you are are surely aware, in the past few years, Sderot was being targeted by kassam rockets from Gazza . As a result, paradoxically, now Sderot is one of the safer places in Israel!! Our beautiful Beit Midrash, made with over 1500 tons of cement, is completely rocket proof! The classrooms, dining hall and all dormitories are also all rocket proof. In addition to the many shelters that are placed around the campus and entire city, all bus stops are fully protected providing safety everywhere at all times. Application info Application forms will be sent by mail to those who are interested. The yearly tuition is cheaper than most programs and subsidies are available.

What the Guys Say

I chose to come and learn in Sderot because of the warm and supportive environment… We are like one big family Each student is given the opportunity to grow and develop at his own pace You meet students from all over the country with different backgrounds… you learn about different customs Each talmid is accepted and respected by his peers Avraham Jozefson( Avnei Chefetz) Shiur bet habbatot and Chagim are an unbelievable experience in the Yeshiva The singing and the environment are electrifying You feel like you're "flying" Nir Natanzon() Shiur Aleph

One of the great things we have in Sderot is the opportunity to go and volunteer in the city There is a program where you "adopt" a younger boy from elementary school or high school and you learn with him during the week It really connects you to what's going on in the city Nir
