David Chilton: INSIDE THIS ISSUE July In Gear- from the President 1 Editorial 2 Hello Members, Drivers List January 2020 3 Photos 4 It was great to be back at the track after having to GEAR Details 5 cancel the previous four scheduled monthly Cars for Sale 6 events. Despite the forecast 75 members entered hoping to blow off some steam and have a social day out. The drivers’ briefing was held outside with a megaphone, this will be the new norm for the foreseeable future. We can’t take a trick so far this year with the weather on our GEAR Days. Only 3 meetings, With the popularity of the tin tops, we needed to and all of them wet! Hopefully Thursday 27 have two groups of Yellow and Green. This August at QR will be a fine, cloudless day, and contributed to each round taking much longer 80+ members will join us for the meeting. with six groups instead of the usual four. We only got through three rounds for the day. Please come out and join in... Unfortunately, not everyone adapted to the wet Cheers tarmac and we had plenty of drivers spinning. Hungry Corner caught the most out, but start of David the straight saw two cars collide. (the ducks waddling across the track were uninjured). It is both sad and frustrating to see precious metal damaged when with only a pinch more caution, everyone could go home with satisfied smiles on their faces. Editorial Greetings Campers, Wasn’t it great to get back to a race track and catch up with our mates. The weather wasn’t the best but the attendance was great. My good friend and member Allan Carseldine was back trackside behind the lens capturing some fantastic images, all be it somewhat wet and gloomy. Our membership continues to increase at a steady pace with a good number of applications before and after this event. I’ve been compiling the GEAR Selector since November 2016, so I think it’s time for a new editor. Wesley Linton Abstract The Luego prototype chassis was tested to determine the value of its global torsional stiffness. This value was calculated to be 1330Nm/deg. This value was to be improved upon by the following method: • Creation of a Finite element baseline validation model • Discussed modification of this model • A design improvement study • An optimisation study The creation of a Finite Element baseline validation model using MSC Patran/Nastran software compared favourably with the physical test results with a torsional stiffness value of 1352Nm/deg for a mass of 120.1Kg and an efficiency of 88g/Nm/deg. The discussed modifications had been suggested to Luego upon initial appraisal of the chassis were incorporated into this baseline model and resulted in increases in both torsional stiffness and efficiency. Further, the design improvement study performed resulted in a maximum torsional stiffness of 6448Nm/deg, an increase of 377% over the baseline model. A maximum increase in efficiency of 286% to 23g/Nm/deg for a mass of 148.3Kg accompanied this increase in torsional stiffness.

Et køretøj med tromle bremser, bremser væsentligt ringere end et køretøj med skive bremser, så at stille krav om at nedsætte trafiksikkerheden strider mod sund fornuft. De 2 linier foreslås således ændret eller fjernet. Der lægges op til, at motoren skal være af samme type som originalbilen. AC Cobra er født med en 428CU V8 (7000 ccm), men flere AC Cobra replica er bygget med R4 og V6 fra 2000 ccm til 3500 ccm. Ligeledes er flere replicas bygget på VW boble med 1300 eller 1600 ccm. Så hvorfor stille krav til, at den skal være med så kraftig motor som originalen. Hvis man vil lave en grænse, så lav en øvre grænse på motor størelsen, der siger max 20% mere effekt end originalen. 2. Første registrering Der lægges op til, at under ”1. registrering” anføres datoen for første registrering af replica-bilen. På de fleste replica lyder ”Title” registreringsdokumentet på det år køretøjet fremstår som, hvilket kan ses på de mange replica der allerede er indregistreret.

Rajatapauksien kohdalla olemme kiinnittäneet huomiota mm. sellaisiin asioihin kuten mallin harvinaisuuteen sekä merkin karismaan. Auto, joka on perinteisen urheiluautomallin suora jatke on myös hyväksytty mukaan listaan, vaikka aivan vastaava malli ilman “perinnettä“ on jätetty sen ulkopuolelle. Mikäli listaan on merkitty pelkästään auton merkki, hyväksytään kaikki sen merkkiset autot. Jos auto on kopio jostain toisesta autosta, tämä on nimetty suluissa kansallisuustunnuksen jälkeen, ellei mallimerkintä asiaa jo kerro. Lista ei ole täydellinen uusimpien eikä vanhimpienkaan mallien kohdalta, vaan sitä uusitaan jatkuvasti. SccH:n hallitus ottaa vastaan muutosehdotuksia.
