Insights Match Day 32 Serie a TIM Other Matchday 32 Serie A TIM 2020-21 20 - 22 April 2021 20/04/2021 20:45 - MARCANTONIO BENTEGODI HELLAS VERONA Vs FIORENTINA Verona have gone unbeaten in their last four Serie A TIM games against Fiorentina (W2 D2) and have not recorded a longer unbeaten streak against the Viola in the competition since 1989, when they went unbeaten in 11 games in a row. Verona and Fiorentina have not drawn at Gialloblù’s home in Serie A TIM since 2000: two home wins and five away wins. Verona have lost five of their last six league games (W1), as many defeats as in their previous 17 in Serie A TIM. Verona have lost without scoring in each of their last three home league games: the Gialloblù last registered four consecutive home defeats in Serie A TIM in December 2015, when they failed to score in all four games. After the defeats against Atalanta and Sassuolo, Fiorentina could lose three consecutive Serie A TIM games for the first time since December 2019, with Vincenzo Montella on the bench (four). Fiorentina have faced the most penalties in this Serie A TIM season (10), conceding a goal in eight of those kicks. No current player in Verona’s squad has ever scored more than a single goal against Fiorentina in Serie A TIM. Darko Lazovic has been involved in five goals in his last eight Serie A TIM appearances (two goals, three assists); he was involved in only two goals (one goal, one assist) in his first 17 appearances of this current season. 27 of Nikola Kalinic's 39 Serie A TIM goals have been scored with Fiorentina between 2015 and 2017 - the Verona forward scored in his only previous game against the Viola in the competition (May 2018 with AC Milan). Fiorentina’s winger José Callejón has scored four goals against Verona in Serie A TIM; he has only scored more against Lazio (six) in the competition. 21/04/2021 18:30 - GIUSEPPE MEAZZA MILAN Vs SASSUOLO AC Milan are unbeaten in their last nine Serie A TIM games against Sassuolo (W7 D2), after having lost four of their previous six league meetings against the Neroverdi (W2). After conceding in each of their first five home games against Sassuolo in Serie A TIM (W3 D1 L1), AC Milan have kept a clean sheet in their last two encounters against them at San Siro (W1 D1). AC Milan have won their last two Serie A TIM games - the last time they enjoyed a longer such run was last January: on that occasion the run began with a win against Sassuolo. The last two Serie A TIM games played by AC Milan on Wednesday were at San Siro: a defeat against Juventus and a draw against Udinese; the last time the Rossoneri played three league games in a row without winning on this day of the week was back in October 2009. Sassuolo won their last away league game, against Benevento; they could win consecutive away games in Serie A TIM for their first time since last November, when they won four on the bounce. AC Milan (12) and Sassuolo (10) are the two sides to have scored the most penalty goals in Serie A TIM this season; however, the last one scored by the Rossoneri was back on March 3rd and since then, the Neroverdi have netted four penalty goals. No side has scored more goals than AC Milan during the first 30 minutes of play in Serie A TIM this season (21 goals, level with AS Roma). Among the players with 10+ goals in Serie A TIM this season, AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has played the fewest games (15 goals in 17 matches). Ante Rebic has scored 17 goals in the second half of the season in the last two Serie A TIM campaigns (out of 18 with AC Milan): excluding penalties, only Cristiano Ronaldo (18) has scored more in the last two campaigns considering only the second half of the season. Domenico Berardi has scored more Serie A TIM goals against AC Milan than he has vs any other: the Sassuolo striker has scored nine league goals against the Rossoneri, including the only time he has netted four goals in a single game in the competition (in January 2014). 21/04/2021 20:45 - RENATO DALL'ARA BOLOGNA Vs TORINO Bologna have won only one of their last seven games against Torino in Serie A TIM, with four draws and two wins for the Granata. Bologna and Torino have drawn their last three Serie A TIM games at Rossoblù’s home ground; previously the two teams had never drawn more than twice in a row in Emilia. Bologna have won seven home games in Serie A TIM this season, more than they registered last season (five); moreover, the Rossoblù have won three of the last four home games in the competition (L1), as many as in the previous 10. In the last three seasons in Serie A TIM (from 2018/19), Torino have won two away games in a row only once, in November 2019 with Mazzarri on the bench. Torino have won their last two Serie A TIM games: the last time they achieved three straight wins in a single league season was in March 2019. Torino have won two, draw two and lost two of their last six Serie A TIM away games. Since Davide Nicola has been on Granata’s bench (19th January), Torino have gained 10 points from trailing situations, more than any other side in Serie A TIM. Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg is the player with the most goals in 2021 in Serie A TIM at Dall’Ara (four). Bologna’s player Nicola Sansone has been involved in five league goals against Torino (three goals and two assists), against no team has he been involved in more in Serie A TIM. Andrea Belotti's first hat-trick in Serie A TIM was scored against Bologna in August 2016; the Torino forward scored a total of five goals against the Rossoblù in the competition. 21/04/2021 20:45 - EZIO SCIDA CROTONE Vs SAMPDORIA There have been two wins apiece and a draw in five Serie A TIM matches between Crotone and Sampdoria. Crotone are unbeaten on home soil against Sampdoria in Serie A TIM: a win in 2018 (4-1) and a draw in 2016 (1-1). Crotone haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 18 home league games, with only two sides in Serie A’s TIM history going on a longer run without a home shut out: Bologna (22 in November 2020) and Verona (27 in September 2017). Sampdoria have won only one of their last eight away Serie A TIM games (D3 L4), keeping just a single clean sheet during this period (2-0 v Parma). Crotone are currently on the longest run without a draw in Serie A TIM (P19 W3 L19). Sampdoria haven’t won any of their last five away Serie A TIM games (D3 L2), last going on a longer such run back in October 2019 (a run of nine). Crotone are the only side in the top-5 European leagues this season that are yet to pick up a point from a losing position. Only three players, in the three points for a win era in Serie A TIM, have scored in at least seven appearances in a row with a newly promoted team: Gabriel Batistuta (11 with Fiorentina in 1994/95), Paulo Barreto (eight with Bari in 2009/10) and Simy (seven with Crotone in the current season). Crotone’s Simy (27 goals) is just one goal away from equaling Obafemi Martins’ record (28) as the all-time highest scoring Nigerian player in Serie A TIM history. Jakub Jankto has scored more goals against Crotone in Serie A TIM than against any other opponent (3); the Sampdoria midfielder is having his best goalscoring season in Serie A TIM netting five times this term (level with 2016-17). 21/04/2021 20:45 - LUIGI FERRARIS GENOA Vs BENEVENTO None of the last three Serie A TIM meetings between Genoa and Benevento have ended level: a Rossoblù win at Ferraris and two Giallorossi victories at Vigorito. The only meeting between Genoa and Benevento played at the Ferraris was won 1-0 by the Rossoblù, in December 2017 with a Lapadula goal. After losing their first two away games in Liguria in their first Serie A TIM season, Benevento are unbeaten this season in the region (a win against Sampdoria and a draw with Spezia). Genoa remain unbeaten in their last nine home league games (W3 D6) – they last went longer without defeat on home soil in Serie A TIM back in February 2009 (a run of 12). Genoa have drawn each of their last four home league games - only once have the Rossoblù drawn five consecutive home Serie A TIM matches, in April 1990. Two of Benevento's last three Serie A TIM away wins have come on a Wednesday: 2-1 against Cagliari in January and 2-0 against Udinese in December. Benevento have conceded six own goals in the league this season (more than any other team). In Serie A TIM history, only three sides have conceded more own goals in a single campaign: Catania in 1960/61, Genoa in 1982/83 and Brescia in 1986/87 (seven for all three). Mattia Destro has scored 11 goals for Genoa in Serie A this season: only in two Serie A TIM campaigns has he scored more (13 in 2013/14 with Roma and 12 in 2011/12 with Siena).
