E-mail: [email protected] Abstract In the present study, a checklist of new records of the family Chalcididae of Egypt is presented based on a total of 180 specimens collected from 24 different Egyptian localities between June 2011 and October 2016, mostly by sweeping and Malaise traps. Nineteen species as well as the subfamily Epitraninae and the genera Bucekia Steffan, Epitranus Walker, Proconura Dodd, and Tanycoryphus Cameron, are newly recorded from Egypt. A single species previously placed in the genus Hockeria is transferred to Euchalcis Dufour as E. rufula (Nikol’skaya, 1960) comb. nov. Key words: Parasitic wasps, Chalcidinae, Dirhininae, Epitraninae, Haltichellinae, new records, new combination Introduction The Chalcididae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) is a medium-sized family represented by more than 1500 described species in 93 genera (Aguiar et al. 2013; Noyes 2017; Abul-Sood et al. 2018). A large number of described species are classified in the genus Brachymeria Westwood (about 21%), followed by Conura Spinola (20.3%) (Noyes 2017). -

M., Juli 2010 Neue Erkenntnisse zur Verbreitung und Ökologie von Vertigo alpestris ALDER 1838 in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und Erstnachweis für das Bundesland Brandenburg (Gastropoda: Vertiginidae) HOLGER MENZEL-HARLOFF Abstract: In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Mountain Whorl Snail, Vertigo alpestris ALDER 1838, had been found up to 2001 only on old stone walls. More recently it has also been discovered at numerous localities in the mull on top of old pollarded willows. Now this species is known from 76 localities in this state. In addition, in 2009 it was recorded for Brandenburg for the first time. Most sites are situated on or near the end moraine of the Pomeranian phase of the Weichsel glaciation, with a concentration of occurrences in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg. According to current knowledge, Vertigo alpestris in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is restricted to stone walls and pollarded willows. Both habitats can be considered as “rock substitutes”. Besides Vertigo alpestris, Balea perversa is a characteristic species of these habitats. Dispersal mechanisms and conservation issues are discussed. Zusammenfassung: Die Alpen-Windelschnecke, Vertigo alpestris ALDER 1838, wurde bis 2001 in Mecklen- burg-Vorpommern ausschließlich an alten Feldsteinmauern gefunden, konnte danach jedoch an zahlreichen Lo- kalitäten im Mulm alter Kopfweiden nachgewiesen werden. Inzwischen sind 76 Fundorte der Art bekannt. Au- ßerdem wurde sie im Jahr 2009 erstmals in Brandenburg festgestellt. Die meisten Fundorte liegen im Bereich oder in der Nähe der Hauptendmoräne des Pommerschen Stadiums der Weichsel-Vereisung, wobei eine Konzentration der Vorkommen im Landkreis Nordwestmecklenburg zu erken- nen ist. -

Box 530, El-Maadi, Cairo, Egypt Corresponding author email address: [email protected] ABSTRACT The present work deals with geology, geochemistry, radioactivity and tectonic environment of the granitic and volcanic rocks at Hadarba area, South Eastern Desert of Egypt. The granitic rocks comprise tonalite-granodiorite and monzogranite, while volcanic rocks include rhyolite, rhyodacite anddacite. These rocks are characterized by high concentrations of SiO2, Na2O, Fe2O3, K2O, Zr, Nb and Y but low in MgO, CaO, Cr, Ni, Sr, Ga and V. Field studies indicate that Dokhan volcanics extrude both tonalite-granodiorite and monzogranite with sharp contact forming a thick successive sequence of laminated acid lava flows, crystal lapilli tuffs and agglomerates. They range in composition from rhyolite, rhyodacite to dacite. Shear zone comprise lines–arranged intrusions trending NE-SW direction were recorded north Gabal Hadarba and extends for about 2.3 km in length with a width reaches up to 10 meter. These lines–arranged intrusions include quartz vein, microgranite and basic dykes. These shear zones cut through monzogranite. Petrochemical studies and tectonic discrimination diagrams for the monzogranite reveal that it is classified as granite developed in the within-plate tectonic environment, while Dokhan volcanics are classified as rhyolite and dacite developed in the immature island arcs and active continental margin environments.Field radiometric measurements of these granitic and volcanic rocks reveal low uranium and thorium contents. -

(CE:2171b-2190a) SYNAXARION, COPTO-ARABIC, list of saints used in the Coptic church. [This entry consists of two articles, Editions of the Synaxarion and The List of Saints.] Editions of the Synaxarion This book, which has become a liturgical book, is very important for the history of the Coptic church. It appears in two forms: the recension from Lower Egypt, which is the quasi-official book of the Coptic church from Alexandria to Aswan, and the recension from Upper Egypt. Egypt has long preserved this separation into two Egypts, Upper and Lower, and this division was translated into daily life through different usages, and in particular through different religious books. This book is the result of various endeavors, of which the Synaxarion itself speaks, for it mentions different usages here or there. It poses several questions that we cannot answer with any certainty: Who compiled the Synaxarion, and who was the first to take the initiative? Who made the final revision, and where was it done? It seems evident that the intention was to compile this book for the Coptic church in imitation of the Greek list of saints, and that the author or authors drew their inspiration from that work, for several notices are obviously taken from the Synaxarion called that of Constantinople. The reader may have recourse to several editions or translations, each of which has its advantages and its disadvantages. Let us take them in chronological order. The oldest translation (German) is that of the great German Arabist F. Wüstenfeld, who produced the edition with a German translation of part of al-Maqrizi's Khitat, concerning the Coptic church, under the title Macrizi's Geschichte der Copten (Göttingen, 1845). -

In Latvia, this species was first recorded in 1989 in Liepāja. Observations in recent years in Liepāja have shown that snails from their initial introduction sites on the railway have also spread to the sand dune habitats within the city limits. Given that there are no snails in dune habitats that are biologically equivalent to X. obvia, this species is considered to be potentially invasive. As the distribution trends of this species in Liepāja indicate a possible threat to dry habitats in natural areas, detailed study of the species was conducted for the population of this species located in Dobele. Monitoring was performed from May 26 to August 5, 2019, carrying out 11 surveys with one week interval using the capture and re-capture method. The maximum recorded distance travelled by of one snail was 29.7 m; the calculated minimum estimated population density was 170 individuals and the maximum was 2004 individuals. Its fauna is Cairo 11341 rich with numerous vertebrate and invertebrate species. The arachnids of this Egypt area are here studied for the first time.
