Each index card records contact details, name and reference number for 'adopted' orphan, with date of payment and amount payed into the scheme. 5 1 box XDA24/5/2 Index of Orphans circa 1950 1970 Index of orphans, including photographs. Index cards vary in detail but can record name and reference number, date of birth, place of birth and information about parents where known, date of admittance to orphanage, date of baptism and confirmation, notes on education and exams, notes on personality, date of marriage. Where the individual has left the orphanage, a note is included giving details of where they have gone and what they are doing. Cards also list name and contact details of adopters. Separate cards indicate more precisely the type of support required for each individual, e.g. school fees, expenses for wedding, money for training or renting a room. 1 box XDA24/6 Correspondence 18911987 Correspondence s maintained by the Organising Secretary of the London office, Korean Mission. A large part of the correspondence is between individual members of mission staff and the Organising Secretary. These s often include discussions over their initial appointment for work in Korea, reports of the preliminary year based in Seoul, and thereafter, regular correspondence from their assigned mission posts. Includes an of correspondence from Charles John Corfe, first Bishop in Korea, 18891904; correspondence with Cecil REEL 5 cont Cooper, Bishop in Korea, 19311954; Arthur Chadwell, Assistant Bishop in Korea, 19511964; John Daly, Bishop in Korea, 19551965, Bishop of Taejon, 19651968; Paul Lee, first Korean Bishop of Seoul, from 1965; Richard Rutt, Bishop of Taejon, from 1968, and his Korean successor, Mark Pae. Also includes correspondence with the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, organisations associated with the Korean Mission including the Community of St Peters and the Society of the Holy Cross, and papers relating to general administrative matters handled by the Organising Secretary. XDA24/6/1 Correspondence with Paul Burrough 19511970 6 Correspondence with Paul Burrough, priest with the Korean Mission, dated 30 Jun 1951 28 Oct 1970. Correspondence includes accounts of the St Nicholas Shelter, Pusan and Rev Burrough's work in Chungju. It also covers the period of a furlough, 19561957 and his later work in the UK as Bishop's Commissary. XDA24/6/2 Correspondence with Arthur Chadwell (Part 1) 19501951 Correspondence with Arthur Chadwell, Assistant Bishop in Korea (19511964), dated 12 Aug 1950 22 Jan 1965. Correspondence relates to the administration of the Diocese during the Korean War, and its aftermath. Includes statements for composite budgets, Anglican Church in Korea. From Nov 1958, correspondence relates largely to Chadwell's work at In'chon.
