CCH provides objective, meaningful historical support to NSA leadership and the workforce to enhance decision-making, cryptologic knowledge, and esprit de corps. CCH also serves as NSA’s historical outreach to academia and the general public. The CCH produces unclassified histories of cryptology that can be obtained and ordered. A major feature of CCH public outreach is the biennial Cryptologic History Symposium, last held in late October 2003. This is a venue for leading cryptologic historians and experts, both from NSA and around the world, to present papers on new avenues of historical research. The next symposium is scheduled for fall 2005. CCH staff consists of professional historians who are veterans of cryptologic operations.
