SOUTH TEXAS PLAINS Goliad STATE PARK AND HISTORIC SITE

Experience a blending of natural and cultural resources at Goliad State Park and Historic Site. Situated within three ecological zones and located on the River, the park is rich with Texas history and culture. Surrounding ranches remind visitors of the role the area played as Texas’ history and economy developed. The park is located along the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail and includes Mission Espíritu Santo, Ignacio Zaragoza’s Birthplace, and the ruins of Mission Rosario. While visiting the Goliad Historic District, explore nearby La Bahía and the Fannin Battle- ground. While in the park, enjoy a leisurely float down the , camp under the stars, observe wildlife on an interpretive hike, or take a bike ride along the Angel of Goliad Hike and Bike Trail.

Camping: Campsites with water only, water and electricity, or full hookups with 50-amp connections. Screened shelters. Group Facilities: Dining hall (capacity 80). Picnicking: Picnic sites with tables. Historic structures: Restored mission church open to visitors. Granary houses excellent museum with artifacts and interpretive exhibits. Canoeing: In San Antonio River with access point in the park. Fishing: Cast a line in the river. Trails: Short nature trail, river trail, and the Angel of Goliad Hike and Bike Trail which connects the park, downtown Goliad, and Presidio La Bahía.
