UNAIDS LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN Turin, 18 November – 22 November 2019

LOGISTICAL INFORMATION

Your “Leadership Programme for Women” training will start on Monday, 18 November 2019 at 9:00 am and will end on Friday, 22 November 2019 at around 4:30 pm. When Arrival on the day before (Sunday 17 November) is recommended.

The training will be held at the UN Campus in Turin in Pavilion , where the UNSSC is based. Our address is:

Participants are expected to arrange and cover the costs of their travel to Turin and to make their own arrangements to reach the hotel.

We strongly recommend you to organise your flight connections so to land in Airport. The nearest alternative airports are Malpensa and Milan Linate, which are located about 120 km from Turin.

 Turin International Airport (Caselle): The airport is 20 km away from Turin city centre (approx. 35 minute drive). Taxis are available in front of the arrival area. Standard taxi fare to town is about € 40. A bus service is available from the airport to Turin city centre. Cost: € 7.50/one-way (for timetable: click here)

Travel  Milano International Airport (Malpensa): Arrangements A bus service is available from Malpensa to Turin (2 hours bus drive), departing from the airport. Cost: € 22.00/one-way. For timetable and necessary reservation click here

Airport (Linate): To reach Turin you can take a taxi to Milan railway station “Stazione Centrale” and from there a train to Turin railway station “Porta Nuova”. Average cost of the train ticket is € 30.

Private car transfers can be organised upon request; to do so, please contact the limousine service “SEA” directly at: [email protected]. Please note that taxi fare from Malpensa or Linate International airports to Turin is around € 200/one-way.

DSA and Participants are expected to book and cover all costs related to their accommodation and Terminal meals. DSA should be provided by your Organisation. Please make sure that you get your daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and terminal allowances PRIOR to departure. Allowances DSA for Turin is USD 261 (UN rate October 2019)

UNSSC made a block booking at the Turin Palace Hotel, a very nice four-star hotel in the heart of the city, at a special negotiated rate for participants of this course.

Accommodation During the course days, UNSSC has organized the transport from this hotel to the training venue and back. A bus will collect participants from the hotel and depart for the UNSSC at 8:00 am SHARP.

Upon arrival at the UNSSC Campus, participants will register at the main security gate and will receive their ground pass valid for the duration of the course. Please be sure to bring your UN Laissez-Passer or National Passport with you.

On the first day of course a UNSSC representative will be at the Turin Palace Hotel to guide participants to the bus pick-up location (just outside the hotel).

For the remaining 4 days, the coach will depart from the hotel at 8:15 am. The bus drop-off and pick-up point will be the UN Campus Reception (Pavilion Americas 1).

Should you decide to make your own arrangements for your stay in Turin, please note that you will be responsible for arranging and covering commuting expenses.

A cocktail will be hosted by UNSSC on Monday evening, 18 November 2019 (venue to be confirmed).

The UN Campus offers a number of services including a self-service cafeteria, and a coffee bar. Meals can be in paid cash in euro directly at the Campus counter. In addition, a 24h ATM, a bank, a travel Facilities agency, medical services as well as a post office & and laundry services are available. The reception Meals desk will be able to provide you with detailed information about the services.

UN Laissez-Passer holders are NOT subject to the visa obligations to enter Italy when they are on an official mission up to a maximum of 90 days.

No visa can be issued upon arrival in Italy.

Dress Code The dress code for the course is smart casual.
