CLEAR BROOK BYLINES October 2018

Message from the PTA President

Wolverine Families,

On behalf of the PTA, I would like to thank you for your support. We appreciate everyone who has signed up to become a member as well as parents who have made donations for various events.

September was busy for PTA. We held our “Welcome Back Breakfast” for the faculty and staff. Thanks to Colleen Payne Wilkerson for coordinating this event. PTA loves our Clear Brook teachers and staff!

We had great success with our Caramel Apple/Popcorn Booth at the Homecoming Carnival. Thank you to everyone who made the delicious treats and helped run our booth.

In October we were fortunate to sell Raising Cane’s for the first Food Fair of the school year. Thanks to the parents who donated chips and drinks to help make this such a successful fundraiser. The funds raised will go into funding our scholarships for seniors and projects for the campus. Red Ribbon Week kicks of on October 22nd and PTA is proud to partner with the Counseling team and Student Council to make sure all the students on our campus get the message to be drug free. Thanks to Monica Jacoby for heading our Red Ribbon Week committee and for tying our ribbons around Brook.

With the first nine weeks complete, we will have Thanksgiving break before you know it. I hope everyone enjoys their holiday break.

Happy Fall to all and Go Wolverines!

Amy Biekert

Fellow LD teammates Rishi Bengani and Danil Merchant achieved quarter-finalist status in Varsity and Novice LD respectively. Bengani went on to also place 5th in Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking and 2nd place in Impromptu Speaking, nudging himself closer to two state qualifications.
