Grand Oaks High School (Currently Under Construction) New High School Conroe Independent School District

The new high school is planned to house a population of 3,000 students in grades 9-12, with a total area of approximately 535,000 square feet. This facility is designed with two 3-story academic wings that contain the majority of the departmental classrooms, collaboration areas, and instructional spaces. A dedicated 9th grade area of the campus with instructional space for 900 students is located on the second floor of the academic wing of the school. The first floor is home to the primary administration offices, the Learning Commons, Performing Arts Center, a Dining Commons, a centralized Kitchen, CTE spaces, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Athletic, and related support spaces.

Adams Middle School (Currently Under Construction) New Middle School No. 6 Northwest Independent School District

The district’s sixth middle school will feature an interior courtyard, collaboration areas, turf fields, and an athletic and fine arts wings. The new two story campus contains approximately 211,143 square feet and it is located across the street from V.R. Eaton High School and Carl E. Schluter Elementary School on Eagle Boulevard in Haslet. The campus is expected to open in August 2018.

Lakewood Elementary School (Currently Under Construction) Expansion and Renovation Dallas Independent School District

Our firm provided structural engineering services for the extensive addition and renovation of Lakewood Elementary School. Our team designed the new 2-story, 45,000 square foot classroom addition, a new library, new cafeteria and kitchen areas, as well as a new enclosed pedestrian bridge spanning from the new classroom wing to the existing building. We also worked on the design of interior renovations to the existing space that required miscellaneous structural details. Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy Dallas Independent School District

Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy is an early college high school tailored to prepare primarily first generation college students for academic success. Along with SHW Group, our firm designed the 110,000-square-foot facility as a series of academic and social spaces centered around a common area to give the facility the feel of a multiple-building campus, similar to a college, while keeping the students in a secure environment. Faculty offices are located in a “perch,” a large, cubic space suspended on the second floor, from which faculty can view the various academic spaces. Upperclassmen are housed on the first floor, allowing for more freedom and unstructured time, while the lower grade levels are on the second floor for a more structured, controlled environment in closer proximity to teachers. Multiple spaces for informal learning are incorporated throughout the building.

Prosper High School New High School and Indoor Practice Facility Prosper Independent School District

Prosper High School is the modern American High School - style. This project is a $113.5 million, 590,000-square-foot behemoth, complete with a medical tech lab, a restaurant-worthy kitchen, a greenhouse, a broadcast studio, and an indoor football practice facility. Working under tight deadlines, our team completed the new high school along with a new sports arena, indoor practice space, and natatorium. This is the largest project to date for Prosper Independent School District.

Jack E. Singley Academy New Auditorium Irving Independent School District

Located on twenty-three acres overlooking a course, this project includes a three-story auditorium constructed into the hillside and organized around an atrium that includes public spaces. A non-spectator gymnasium and 500-seat performing arts center were added in 2009, increasing the opportunities for physical education and fine arts programs offered at the school. The steel-framed building is clad in multiple tones of stone-faced block and composite metal panels. Education | K-12 Portfolio
