Texas Tech Athletics Communications TEXAS TECH ATHLETICS COMMUNICATIONS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Wednesday, November 21, 2012 Contact: Scott Lacefield ([email protected]) (806) 742-2770 – Office (817) 691-3786 – Cell TEXAS TECH ANNOUNCES BASEBALL RECRUITING CLASS Recruiting class is highlighted by several high school and junior college standouts LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech first-year head baseball coach Tim Tadlock announced the Red Raiders early recruiting class Wednesday morning as 19 student-athletes will join the Tech baseball program in the fall 2013 semester. The recruiting class includes 16 standouts from the state of Texas while also adding prospects from Virginia, Oklahoma and California. “Our efforts on the recruiting trail started this past summer with the group of players that will take the field this spring,” Tadlock said. “Just as we felt heading into this fall, we are equally excited about the group of players that make up this early recruiting class. This group has some quality arms and some hitters whom can step in right away and make an impact in our lineup. “Our number one priority last summer in recruiting was to attract the best players while building a team for the 2013 season. The beauty of baseball is that the season will tell us if we did that. Between J-Bob Thomas, Ray Hayward, Russell Raley and Joe Hughes, we feel like we do have some guys on campus that are the building blocks for our program for years to come. And now with our second recruiting class under our belts, we feel fortunate that all of these individuals will help our program grow towards being able to compete to go to Omaha!” TEXAS TECH BASEBALL 2013-14 RECRUITING CLASS Taylor Bridges – LHP – 6-0, 180, L/L – Lubbock, Texas/Coronado Matthew Broadbent – INF – 6-0, 190, R/R – Cypress, Texas/Cypress Woods Carson Chilton – RHP – 6-3, 160, R/R – McKinney, Texas/McKinney Boyd Ty Damron – LHP – 6-3, 175, L/L – Aubrey, Texas/Krum Hunter Davis – INF – 6-1, 170, R/R – Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne Dylan Dusek – LHP – 6-1, 190, L/L – Sugar Land, Texas/Kempner Ryan Long – INF – 6-1, 180, L/R – Crandall, Texas/Crandall Thaddius Lowry – RHP – 6-4, 210, R/R – Spring, Texas/Spring Anthony Lyons – OF – 6-4, 220, L/L – Arlington, Texas/Arlington Martin Casey Meisner – RHP – 6-7, 185, R/R – Cypress, Texas/Cypress Woods Ryan Moseley – RHP – 6-2, 185, R/R – Lubbock, Texas/Cooper Nick Pettus – RHP/INF – 6-0, 185, R/R – Broken Arrow, Okla./Broken Arrow/Seminole State College Zac Reininger – RHP/INF – 6-4, 170, S/R – Spring Branch, Texas/Smithson Valley/Hill College Derek Rustich – INF – 6-3, 200, L/R – El Cajon, Calif./Grossmont Chris Sadberry – LHP – 6-0, 195, L/L – Holliday, Texas/Holliday/Grayson County College Cameron Smith – LHP – 5-11, 170, L/L – Seabrook, Texas/Clear Lake/New Mexico JC Stephen Smith – OF/RHP – 6-1, 220, R/R – Wolfforth, Texas/Frenship Bryce Welborn – RHP – 5-10, 175, R/R – The Woodlands, Texas/Tomball Brad Wieck – LHP – 6-9, 265, L/L – Canyon, Texas/San Jacinto Christian/Cisco College Taylor Bridges – LHP – 6-0, 180 – L/L – Lubbock, Texas/Coronado - Son of Terry and Shelly Bridges. - Plays for coach Gary Hix at Lubbock Coronado High School. - Played summer baseball for coach Ryan Brewer (ABA). - Enters senior season at Lubbock Coronado High School in 2013. - First Team All-District (2012). - All-South Plains 5A Pitcher of the Year (2012). - South Plains All-Conference (2012). - First Team Lubbock Avalanche-Journal All-City (2012). - First Team 2-5A All-Academic Team (2012). - Went 9-2 with a 2.29 ERA with two saves, 95 strikeouts and 73.1 innings pitched (2012). - All-South Plains 5A Pitcher of the Year (2011). - Went 8-2 with a 3.75 ERA in 65 innings with 64 strikeouts as a sophomore (2011). - Tallied a 5-0 record in playoff games as a sophomore and threw a one-hitter in the state tournament semifinals (2011). - Helped lead high school to a 33-16 overall record and to a state tournament runner-up finish (2011). - Member of the Lubbock little league baseball team that advanced to the 2007 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. Along with SHW Group, our firm designed the 110,000-square-foot facility as a series of academic and social spaces centered around a common area to give the facility the feel of a multiple-building campus, similar to a college, while keeping the students in a secure environment. Faculty offices are located in a “perch,” a large, cubic space suspended on the second floor, from which faculty can view the various academic spaces. Upperclassmen are housed on the first floor, allowing for more freedom and unstructured time, while the lower grade levels are on the second floor for a more structured, controlled environment in closer proximity to teachers. Multiple spaces for informal learning are incorporated throughout the building. Prosper High School New High School and Indoor Practice Facility Prosper Independent School District Prosper High School is the modern American High School - Texas style. This project is a $113.5 million, 590,000-square-foot behemoth, complete with a medical tech lab, a restaurant-worthy kitchen, a greenhouse, a broadcast studio, and an indoor football practice facility. Working under tight deadlines, our team completed the new high school along with a new sports arena, indoor practice space, and natatorium. This is the largest project to date for Prosper Independent School District.

  • The Alpha Nus the Bi-Semester Newsletter of the Alpha Nu Chapter of Sigma Chi September 23, 2010
The Alpha Nus The Bi-semester Newsletter of the Alpha Nu Chapter of Sigma Chi September 23, 2010 Fall Pledge Class The Alpha Nu chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity is proud to say that we are starting the semester with the largest pledge class since receiving our charter back. From the hard work and dedication of our Rush Chairman, Caleb Wiley, and the active members of our Fraternity, we were able to extend a formal bid to pledgeship to 28 worthy gentlemen. Caleb and his committee implemented new and innovative ways to rush these young men, and thanks in part to your alumni support was able to put on four successful rush trips to Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas.
