This drink may seem like it is too simple to have an impact but honestly every time I have this drink I am remembered how refreshing, favourful and bloody delicious it is. Jameson Ginger Ginger Ale is great mixer and arguably goes well with everything, and I am not disagreeing… or maybe I am but hey ho. This drink is class and I think it is down to the Irish whiskey and the fnal squeeze of lime that adds a nice touch of acidity cutting through the sweetness. CONTENTS NEXT PA G E IRISH WHISKEY COCKTAILS RONAN COLLINS DIFFICULTY: 2/5 SEASON: Winter INGREDIENTS METHOD OCCASION: Pre-Dinner Apéritif FLAVOUR: Elegant, Boozy & Herby - 50ml Jameson Black Add all the ingredients into a PREP TIME: 1 Minute Barrel mixing glass. Add cubed ice and MAKE TIME: 2 Minutes - 10ml Italian Sweet stir for around 10 to 15 seconds. Vermouth - 5ml Green Chartreuse Strain by placing your julep - 1 Dash Angostura strainer on the mixing glass and Bitters pour all the cocktail into a chilled - 2 Dash Orange Bitters nick & nora or fancy glass. Spray the oils of a small orange peel on top then drop a fresh cherry in. Some people prefer the orange peel to be left in the drink and no cherry at all, so improvise and see what you enjoy best. First seen in Hugo Ensslin’s Recipes for Mixed Drinks (1916) calling for equal parts of each ingredients this is my own twist on the classic Tipperary more along the lines of Harry McElhone’s recipe seen in ABC of Mixing Cocktails (1922).
