FIORENTINI + BAKER OPENS FLAGSHIP BOUTIQUE IN SOHO

New York, NY – January 31, 2011 -- FIORENTINI + BAKER opened the doors to its first U.S. boutique at 54 Mercer Street in SoHo this past weekend to immediate traffic and swift sales. The brand will officially celebrate the opening with a special event at the store in late March of this year.

The store carries an extensive line of FIORENTINI + BAKER shoes, boots, including the new collection of bags, belts and accessories, plus limited pieces from its ongoing runway collaboration with fashion designer Anna Sui. The new Fiorentini + Baker capsule collection of jackets and coats also makes its debut at the New York store. A whimsical reflection of the brand's philosophy, the 1500 square foot space represents the unique style of FIORENTINI + BAKER. Designer Deborah Baker personally oversaw the design and furnishing of the store. The concept is a continual evolution - new furniture and décor components will be added and rotated to create a space that will complement each changing collection of shoes, boots and accessories. The furniture throughout the store is available for sale.

The brand is already a hit with the hip elite, including celebrities and models such as , Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston, and Alessandra Ambrosio. Casual, cool and chic, the brand is in hot demand because of its wearability, versatility, and distinctive craftsmanship, combining the urban edge of London with the understated sophistication of Italy.

Deborah Baker says, “The opening of this first Fiorentini + Baker boutique in New York is a result of the outstanding success the brand has had in the U.S. I conceived the line as a collection of wearable footwear - cool and comfortable pieces that women and men can wear around the clock, that lasts in their wardrobe. Hand crafted, our shoes and boots are designed to be worn and reinvented season after season, year after year."

The permanent opening follows a 5-day only “pop up” shop that FIORENTINI + BAKER created this past holiday season. During that time, fans Julianna Margulies, Kim Raver, and fellow shoe designer Steve Madden stopped by to make purchases, while Kate Beckinsale phoned in an order to add to her burgeoning collection.

About Fiorentini + Baker: FIORENTINI + BAKER was created in 2001 by London born designer Deborah Baker. Based in Bologna, Italy, and with an unrivalled originality, FIORENTINI + BAKER has a down-to-earth approach to shoe design. The philosophy behind each collection is to create styles that can be worn everyday, put away and forgotten about, only to be rediscovered and worn again. Deborah Baker has lived and worked in Italy for over twenty years and the influence of two such contrasting cultures is evident in her designs. FIORENTINI + BAKER designs are sold worldwide in stores including Barneys NYC, and Selfridges London. The shoes and boots have been used in a number of films; Megan Fox wore them in Transformers and in the Tempest. They are featured in many hit US TV series including Californication, CSI Miami and Criminal Minds. In the summer of 2009, the exclusive FIORENTINI + BAKER store in Westbourne Grove, London opened. www.fiorentini-baker.com
