Pierce Brosnan was born in , Ireland and moved to at age 11. At age 20, he enrolled in drama school and while in London, performed in several West End stage productions including ’s Fulimena and ’ The Red Devil Battery Sign at the York Theater Royal. Brosnan relocated to in 1982 and landed the role of private investigator on the popular ABC television series of the same name.

Brosnan is currently filming "Spinning Man" opposite Guy Pierce and can be seen weekly on AMC’s dramatic new series The Son, based on Philipp Meyer's novel of the same name about the rise and fall of a Texas oil family. Brosnan's soon to be released films include the thriller The Foreigner for director and based on the book The Chinaman by Stephen Leather; ’s The Only Living Boy in New York alongside and for Amazon Studios; and the action thriller Final Score with for director Scott Mann.

Brosnan made his feature film debut in The Long Good Friday (1980). His film credits include Bruce Beresford’s Mr. Johnson (1990), The Lawnmower Man (1992), Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Goldeneye (1995), (1996), Mars Attacks (1996), Dante's Peak (1997), (1997), Sir Richard Attenborough’s (1999), The Thomas Crown Affair (1999), (1999) John Boorman’s The Tailor of Panama (2001), (2002), The Matador (2005) for which he received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor Motion Picture – Drama, (2007), Married Life (2007), Mamma Mia! (2008), Percy Jackson (2010), Writer (2010), Remember Me (2010) and The Greatest (2010) Salvation Boulevard (2011) and I Don’t Know How She Does It (2011), The World’s End (2013), (2013), A Long Way Down (2014), Love Punch (2014), (2015), No Escape (2015) and I.T. (2016).

In addition to his work in front of the camera, Brosnan has long had a passion for the art of filmmaking. Having achieved international stardom as an actor, Brosnan launched his own production company, Irish DreamTime in 1996.

Irish DreamTime has produced 11 films to date including I.T. (2016); The November Man (2014); Some Kind of Beautiful (2014); The Greatest (2010); Shattered (2007); The Matador (2005); Laws of Attraction (2004); Evelyn (2002); The Thomas Crown (1998); The Match (1999); and The Nephew (1998). The company’s first studio project, The Thomas Crown Affair, was a critical and box-office success and one of the best-loved romantic thrillers in years. Evelyn, directed by Bruce Beresford, opened to critical acclaim at the Toronto and Chicago Film Festivals and garnered rave reviews.

Brosnan along with his wife Keely Shaye has worked for decades on myriad environmental issues. Recently he executive produced "Poisoning Paradise" a one hour documentary film directed and produced by Keely Shaye that details what's at stake for and exposes the effects of environmental injustice on a local population. They are actively involved with numerous causes and conservation organizations, particularly in support of marine mammals. The Jane Goodall Institute, Environmental Hall of Fame, Natural Resources Defense Council, Oceana, Environmental Media Association, Earth Communications Office, Heal the Bay, Women in Film, In Defense of Animals, Peace Over Violence, The Malibu Times and the Hawaii European Cinema Film Festival have all honored the Brosnans for their ongoing commitment to the environment. Pierce serves as Campaign Chairman for the Entertainment Industry Foundation.
