It is in the centre of Lausanne, a lively city on the shores of Lake Geneva, in the French speaking part of Switzerland. It is spacious with excellent, up to date facilities, including an incredible multipurpose hall oering a full-sized gymnasium and a 100m2 stage area. Accommodation is of the highest standard. Brillantmont has been fully accredited by NEASC and CIS for over 30 years. Brillantmont welcomes students aged 13-18, from around 30 dierent countries into Grades 8-12. Students can join for a full academic year or more or for 1 or 2 terms. Teaching is in English, but all students learn French, the local language. Students follow a British or an American programme of studies. A Summer Course in July and August gives 10-17 year olds oers French or English classes, afternoon sports’ programmes, excursions and activities. Minimum stay of 2 weeks. Living amongst so many nationalities enables students to learn about other cultures, speak new languages and develop a global network of contacts. Sharing a room with a student of another country promotes inter-cultural understanding and these friendships last a lifetime. Sports are compulsory and a wide varitey is oered, varying with the seasons. After class at Brillantmont our students are busy with clubs. Model United Nations, Habitat for Humanity, the Soup Kitchen, Young Enterprise, music, dance, art, cooking and various sports clubs and teams are just some of the many things that take place. They help develop critical thinking, strengths and talents beyond the classroom, as well as building friend- ships and having fun! The school takes advantage of its location in the heart of Europe to develop a sense of internationalism through trips to neighbouring countries and through language acquisi- tion. A week long holiday trip takes place in October and in February, we head o to the mountains for a week of skiiing. Skiing also takes place at weekends from January to April. At weekends, many activites and excursions are organised in the local area and further afield. We like our students to keep busy and to fully participate in all the opportunities oered. Secondary education – boarding for students 11-18 y.o. Students can choose to follow one of the below diploma programs: International Baccalaureate – taught in English and French is taught a second language. If students are not fluent in English yet, we oer some additional English classes to help student to improve his/her level. Swiss Maturity – taught in French & English and requires a knowledge of German or Italian as a third language. French Baccalaureate – taught in French with English as a second language. We also oer some support with English for students, who are not fluent in this language yet. There is also a full French immersion program for students who wish to learn a new language. Each summer Champittet oers a unique Leadership camp in collaboration with the renowned Swiss Leadership Academy. This camp welcomes students 11 to 18 years old. Students focus on improving their leadership skills, time management and learn how to work in a team, present themselves and much more. Students are applying their learning outcomes across a wide range of exciting summer activities ranging from rock climbing to glacier expeditions, and from water sports on Lake Geneva to top museums in Switzerland.
