Offering independent access to space.

Arianespace was created in 1980 as the world’s fi rst commercial launch services company. Our dual mission is to guarantee Europe’s independent access to space, as well as o er the export market a competitive and trustworthy means to deliver satellites to orbit.

Working for governments and commercial customers, we o er European public institutions, governments, space agencies and private operators a wide range of launch options for any payload: From experimental satellites weighing just a few kilograms to 20-ton Automated Transfer Vehicles that have resupplied the International Space Station (ISS).

ARIANE 5 OVERVIEW

Ariane 5 is the world reference for heavy-lift launch vehicles. More powerful than 10 Airbus A380s put together, the Ariane 5 ECA can launch over 10 metric tons into geostationary transfer orbit, making it the world’s preferred choice for telecommunication satellites. The Ariane 5 ES version is ideally suited for low to medium Earth orbit missions, such as cargo fl ights to the ISS or cluster launches for the Galileo constellation of navigation satellites. Thanks to the outstanding throughput of the European space industry and the capacity of the Guiana Space Center, up to seven Ariane 5 missions are carried out every year.

With more than 1,870 launches completed, there is no doubt that Soyuz is the most prolifi c and versatile rocket of its class. It is also the most iconic brand name in the space industry, having launched the fi rst man into space - Yuri Gagarin - in 1960. It is also the spacecraft that brings international to the ISS today. The Soyuz rockets fl own from the Guiana Space Center include a digital fl ight control system, an increased-performance third stage, the larger Soyuz ST payload fairing and the upper stage. Soyuz is Arianespace’s standard solution for mid-range payloads, spanning applications for Earth observation, science, navigation and telecommunications.

VEGA OVERVIEW

Since entering service in February 2012, Vega has become Arianespace’s new-generation solution for missions involving small to medium-sized satellite payloads. This European four-stage is tailored to carry the growing number of small scientifi c satellites and other lighter-weight spacecraft under development or planned worldwide. It provides a very timely solution for the booming Earth observation market. Vega’s reference payload lift capability is 1,500 kg on missions to a 700 km circular orbit. With the addition of Vega, which has its own dedicated launch pad and state-of the art facilities at the Guiana Space Center, Arianespace now o ers the world’s broadest range of launch services.

Cost-e§ective access to space

By making extensive use of shared components - starting with the same strap-on solid boosters for both its versions and Vega C – Ariane 6 aims to cut down launch costs, by leveraging economies of scale in a very novel way. This is how Arianespace will meet tomorrow’s market requirements and make space financially accessible to a wider range of operators. In sync with the market

At the end of 2014, ESA decided to start the development of the FIRST LAUNCH IN new-generation Ariane 6 launch vehicle. The objective is to address market changes and oer both institutional customers and commercial 2020 operators the launch solution that precisely matches their evolving needs.

A versatile solution

Ariane 6 is a modular solution with a restartable cryogenic upper stage. It will be built in two versions. Ariane 64 is the commercial version. Using four solid boosters, it will launch

Acting responsibly, both in space and on Earth.

Sustainability is a major focus for Arianespace. By o ering the most advanced, versatile and reliable launch services, our teams actively contribute to delivering satellite-based applications and services that improve life on Earth and provide the insight needed to better protect the planet. We also consider it an utmost priority, as a company, to act in a responsible way and help meet the challenges facing current and future generations. This is why Arianespace voluntarily commits to being an eco-responsible corporate citizen, a driven local economic catalyst and a caring employer.

Using space for a better life on Earth.

Reaching space is so much more than running a cutting-edge technology business. Every month, we deliver satellites to their required orbits, at altitudes of up to 36,000 km or higher, in extreme environments of temperature, pressure, speed and vibration.

Every launch is a step toward a better future for everyone. As the world’s leading commercial launch services provider, we contribute to vital technological and scientifi c missions. We help improve mankind’s collective knowledge: we allow a new eye to be cast on the climatic challenges facing our planet. We also contribute to implementing novel services that improve our quality of life. For today. For future generations.
