SKATEBOARDING DOWNHILL AND STREET

Dear friends, is proud to announce the Skateboarding Downhill and World Championships 2019, to be held in Barcelona, Spain.

We are aware that for many of our National Federations, Skateboarding Downhill is a new discipline. World Skate is available to support you in the process of identifying and connect with existing athletes from your country, that might be already active and successful at world class independent events. Please get in contact with the World Skate responsible of these disciplines, Mr Federico Barboni at: [email protected] to gather further information.

This will be the first World Skate-sanctioned Championships of Skateboarding Downhill and Street Luge.

DISCIPLINES

Downhill Skateboarding Competitions: Men and Women Categories Street Luge Competitions: Open Category (Men and Women)

VENUE

The Skateboarding Downhill and Street Luge World Championships 2019 will be held on a circuit of 2200 meters (1.37 miles) in the historic mountain of Montjuìc.

It will be a circuit of great difficulty, with all the necessary security measures applied. In addition, the lifts will use a parallel route to ensure the total absence of traffic inside the circuit during the event. By doing this, the process of taking the riders up will be faster.

The event will be televised and broadcasted, and the circuit will be prepared so that the public can see the show from up close. 2

COMPETITIONS

Skateboarding Downhill • Time Trials (Men and Women) • World Championship Race (4-man heats format: 64 Men Brackets / 32 Women Brackets)

Street Luge • Time Trials (Open category) • World Championship Race (4-man heats format: 32 Open Brackets)

COUNTRY QUOTAS

Six (6) male and six (6) female skaters per National Federation will be admitted to attend the Skateboarding Downhill World Championships 2019.

Three (3) athletes per National Federation will be admitted to attend the Street Luge World Championship 2019.

REGISTRATION

The registration for the participating athletes and the staff from the National Federations will take place through World Skate Entry Platform. The Platform will open April 15th 2019 and will close on May 31st 2019.
