In the course of the research the author made use of the indicative approach and applied the mixed methods research that encompassed qualitative and quantitative approaches. The qualitative research was used for the identification of key decision criteria on acquiring commercial jets, whereas quantitative research was applied to identify future regional demand for single aisle aircraft and to forecast production rates of the main players, namely Airbus and Boeing, using historical data and applying least squares regression technique. -

Victoria Fomina Budapest, August 16, 2019 CEU eTD Collection i Abstract This dissertation explores commemorative practices in contemporary Russia and Cyprus focusing on the role heroic and martyrical images play in the recent surge of nationalist movements in Orthodox countries. It follows two cases of collective mobilization around martyr figures – the cult of the Russian soldier Evgenii Rodionov beheaded in Chechen captivity in 1996, and two Greek Cypriot protesters, Anastasios Isaak and Solomos Solomou, killed as a result of clashes between Greek and Turkish Cypriot protesters during a 1996 anti- occupation rally. Two decades after the tragic incidents, memorial events organized for Rodionov and Isaak and Solomou continue to attract thousands of people and only seem to grow in scale, turning their cults into a platform for the production and dissemination of competing visions of morality and social order. This dissertation shows how martyr figures are mobilized in Russia and Cyprus to articulate a conservative moral project built around nationalism, militarized patriotism, and Orthodox spirituality. -

The engineering and design functions of the group will be separated into a separate center, which will be located in Moscow - it will include all aviation design bureaus. Such decisions were announced by the General Director of the State Corporation Rostec Sergey Chemezov at a meeting with the management of the United Aircraft Corporation and its leading engineering centers, where the tasks of the development of the aircraft industry for the coming years were discussed. The objectives of the transformations being carried out are to increase the economic sustainability of the UAC Group, optimize the administrative and managerial staff, and reduce non-production costs and debt burden. To control the ongoing transformations, the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, intends to personally head the UAC Board of Directors. The optimization will not affect the engineering staff. Design schools will remain independent, receive new opportunities for development, as well as improved working conditions in the format of the Unified Engineering and Design Center. The center will be located in Moscow, where the existing test and bench infrastructure of the UAC is concentrated. Moving aviation design bureaus to other regions is not on the agenda. -

Woolf, published by the Congressional Research Service; April 18, 2018 https://fas.org/sgp/crs/nuke/R44442.pdf Summary The annual Energy and Water Development appropriations bill funds civil works projects of the Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation, the Department of Energy (DOE), and several independent agencies. The DOE budget includes funding for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), a separately organized agency within DOE. NNSA operates three programs: Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation, which secures nuclear materials worldwide, conducts research and development (R&D) into nonproliferation and verification, and operates the Nuclear Counterterrorism and Incident Response Program; Naval Reactors, which “is responsible for all U.S. Navy nuclear propulsion work”; and Weapons Activities. The last is the subject of this report. The Weapons Activities account supports programs that maintain U.S. nuclear missile warheads and gravity bombs and the infrastructure programs that support that mission. Specifically, according to DOE’s budget documentation, these programs “support the maintenance and refurbishment of nuclear weapons to continue sustained confidence in their safety, reliability, and performance; continued investment in scientific, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities to enable certification of the enduring nuclear weapons stockpile; and manufacture of nuclear weapons components.” NNSA’s budget request for FY2019 seeks $11.02 billion for Weapons Activities within a total of budget of $15.09 billion for NNSA. 13.3.2018 EN Official Journal of the European Union L 70/1 II (Non-legislative acts) REGULATIONS COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2018/336 of 8 March 2018 amending Regulation (EC) No 748/2009 on the list of aircraft operators which performed an aviation activity listed in Annex I to Directive 2003/87/EC on or after 1 January 2006 specifying the administering Member State for each aircraft operator (Text with EEA relevance) THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, Having regard to Directive 2003/87/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 October 2003 establishing a scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading within the Community and amending Council Directive 96/61/ EC (1), and in particular Article 18a(3)(b) thereof, Whereas: (1) Directive 2008/101/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (2) amended Directive 2003/87/EC to include aviation activities in the scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading within the Union. (2) Commission Regulation (EC) No 748/2009 (3) establishes a list of aircraft operators which performed an aviation activity listed in Annex I to Directive 2003/87/EC on or after 1 January 2006. (3) That list aims to reduce the administrative burden on aircraft operators by providing information on which Member State will be regulating a particular aircraft operator. (4) The inclusion of an aircraft operator in the Union’s emissions trading scheme is dependent upon the performance of an aviation activity listed in Annex I to Directive 2003/87/EC and is not dependent on the inclusion in the list of aircraft operators established by the Commission on the basis of Article 18a(3) of that Directive. -
