Od 1977. sa velikim uspehom je branio mrežu francuskih prvoligaša Olimpic iz Marseja, Bastije i Pari sen Žermena. Od povratka u zemlju vratio se u Novi Sad i od tada pa do poslednjeg dana života bio stalni član fudbalskog kluba Vojvodina, a najviše vreme- na je proveo na funkciji direktora Omladinske škole FK Vojvodine. Postao je jedinstven u svetu fudbala 1963. godine kada je na jednoj prvenstvenoj utakmici postigao het-trik izvodeći jedanaesterce što nije pošlo za rukom do danas ni jednom golmanu na svetu. Vrhunac njegove karijere je osvajanje državnog prvenstva 1965/66 sa Vojvodinom kada je i proglašen za najboljeg jugoslovenskog golmana. Učesnik je i finala evropskog prvenstva 1968.
