Now that Cuba and the United States have begun to normalize relations, Cabrera is planning a return visit to Cuba. It’s been a decade since he left. His son who stayed there is now 14. Cabrera is anxious about seeing him for the first time in ten years. He also wants to see his parents, who are ineli- gible for a visa and too frail to travel by boat.
