Scope and Content of Collection

Historical Note

Der Chef der Sicherheitspolizei (Sipo) and the Einsatzgruppen des Sicherheitsdienstes (SD) [Chief of the Security Police and the Operational Squads of the Security Service], Reinhard Heydrich extablished the Umwanderer-Zentralstelle (UWZ) [Information Unit] on 1 April 1940 in Poznań. The main goal of this unit was to "evacuate" Poles and Jews from the annexed eastern territories of Gdańsk (Danzig -West Prussia) and Warta country or "evacuate", expropriate and deport.
